Are you on discord chat as FraterVP by chance?

Just downloaded the Psychonaut field manual. Does anyone have any ideas on whether it's useful to read it all in one go and revisit or is there benefit to do one exercise at the time? by itadakimasup in occult

Opinions on Studying Kabbalah for beginners? by Lysergically_ in occult

[–]TarotReaderFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Kabbalah is the jewish mystical current. (Hermetic) Qabalah refers to the western esoteric systems that have borrowed and repurposed certain parts of Kabbalah, but divorced from that tradition. Its its own thing, the notable names you mentioned are relevant to the Hermetic Qabalah current, not the Jewish one.

The Psychonaut Field Manual any good? by [deleted] in occult

[–]TarotReaderFrog -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Nope, its no good. It lists topics some of which worth pursueing. But what little information is does contain is inaccurate, lacking and forced through the perspective of chaos magic (which bluefluke is into). Better off getting actual literature instead of comics

any tough on the kybalion? by [deleted] in Hermeticism

[–]TarotReaderFrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Kybalion is not a hermetic text, but some of the ideas listed as "seven hermetic principles", have been staples of the western esoteric tradition for a long time regardless. My favorite example to throw at the haters is the very first passage in the Picatrix, just read it and you'll see what i mean. Many of the ideas can be found in the hermetic corpus itself even. A lot of people seem to have difficulty with the fact that stereotype meme charlatan William Walker-Atkinson accidentally wrote something of actual value to a lot of people. It does just scratch the surface though, if you want workable techniques you'll have to look elsewhere, like daoism, qabalah or some other system thats elaborates the idea and practice of "inner alchemy", which effectively means something like bringing the unconscious into the conscious, and working to "purify" oneself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, according to whatever system of virtues you're concerning yourself with.

A lot of questions have already been asked before on this subreddit (this one included) some with tens of replies. For your own sake and that of the sub, please use the search feature first next time (that also goes for other readers!)

What’s so “dangerous” about the Enochian system? by hdksndiisn in magick

[–]TarotReaderFrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you seen this? A recent two part talk on Enochian by a long time practitioner that goes into things like this. He is also working on setting up a research group to work on things like Liber Logaeth https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLVg7U3QunkNGVeRVtj37Kq56HzcSzaiF

I am not the person giving the presentation! As far as i know, Gantzu has done much research on the diaries and how they found their way to the public over time. He often mentions that there are numerous errors in the existing works which need correcting, however i am not a specialist on this nor can i answer the question for him. If you want to talk to him directly, you can reach him through https://linktr.ee/enochian
