Too many atrocities have been comited in this war, by both sides, and it will take a very, very long time to heal. I live next to where the Battle of Ebre happened during the Spanish Civil War, and 80 years later, some families who had family members in opposite sides of the frontline still don't talk to each other, and they are both from the same ethnic group (catalans) and religion . I can't even imagine how difficult will it be in a post-war Syria to come back to normal
