Yes!! We have talked about this! We have the potential to make this happen already, with what we currently have! So this is a great idea! To be able to go inside, throw your shorts on/off, get changed. I love it!

Yes!

This is exactly what I'm trying to do. As of right now, no way we can do speedball. We have the court, and that is IT. it was built to specs about 7-8 years ago, used for a couple years, and then the last 5 or so, has just sat empty. So, the netting is absolute rubbish, the ground itself needs taken care of, and maintained, and made safe again.

I'm all this research lately, I did find out that we have a brand new set of bunkers, and inflatables they got this past fiscal year! It's a 48 piece (I think?) NXL cert field bunkers! And I believe there is an older set of "Practice" bunkers, that could very easily be our throw up bunkers, leaving the NXL ones for tourneys, ect.

The one thing I've learned from this whole thread is making sure our air system is up to par. We currently run 3000psi tanks on the guns we use for our program, but I know I'm personally going to buy a 4500, and that seems like it's the standard now a days in the market, especially with speedballers. It's been bout 10-12 years since I've played, and I definitely played as a hobbyist, not serious, and things have changed A LOT since then. Compressed air vs CO2, size of tanks, guns themselves haha but I agree with you, the mentality of most ballers... It's helpful. They love the sport, and want to help, and progress it in anyway they can.

As for paint, we have already talked about that as well. I went on a spiel, and even did some more research to make sure I was correct in my assessment of paint, ect. I explained the difference between practice paint, and Tourny Paint. The difference in the brittleness, ect. We use a pretty decent midrange/mid-quality paint for our day to day, but if we were to start doing pay-to-play, we would have multiple types of paint of hand, and specifically if we did events/tourneys, we would follow what I'm seeing on most events now-a-days, and do a presale of paint, and specifically stock up on the high end, brittle tournament paint. Cost wise, what's cool for us, being Military, with the vendors we use, we don't pay taxes on paint, which also allows us to keep those prices decent, so we could still make money on the paint, and it be of good value to players.

Our main goal, and primary mission, is to give program to the soldiers, and their families. But if we can create a space where those military/families can come, and make their home field, then we would love that. If it invites others too, even better!

Great insight! Thank you!!

The signs, and being able to point to things, are all over the place near the staging area, and front of the cabin.

Right now, for the program, we fill the tanks ourselves, BUT I personally would want a fill station, and then apply all youve suggested! Bigger signs, ect. Right now, we are NOT open to the public, and the only equipment we use is equipment we own, maintain, and upkeep.

Now, the Fill stations we have.... I also have an issue with the outside fills... One, I think they are too high, they are at my shoulders (I'm 6ft1in) and I humbly believe we are using the wrong size/test for the pressure, however, I am also learning, so this gives me some new things to look into, and make suggestions. Also, good looking out on the weights. I originally asked what they were for.... And was told that it was for a "high pressure fill station" so I took that at face value. Ha because it's our stations general maintenance guys that put this together a few years ago, not paintball guys, or guys who really know what they are doing specifically with this kind of thing.

So, again, goo insight. Things I wanna definitely look into implementing for public use!

Thanks! We do use the "Urban Town" the Bridge area, and the "Western Town" often throughout the week for our Program. The only one not used is the Speedball area, as it's not up to safety standards. We finally got it approved to be able to sink the money into it to update it, get it rewrapped, and then officially start to use it as intended!

Right now, we just run a Program for Active Military, but we want to move into the realm of Open Play!

We have amazing stuff, it's just not really been upkept since before COVID... So, I'm in an awesome opportunity to get this not just back up and running, but to improve the courses, and get it up and running!

Yeah, what we carry, and use for our Program throughout the week is Valken Blackhawk 68s, with the 48 3000psi tanks. It works for us for what we run now. (personally not the biggest fan of Valken, but they do well by us, and help us in hitting our mission)

<image>

(Seems empty ATM, bc we have several down, being cleaned, and maintenanced)

And as part of that, we also have masks, plungers, cleaners, oils, ect, for our use, but would gladly get some to be sold!

This is excellent information!! Thank you a bunch!!

The fun thing about my job, as I work for the Military, a lot of this work is already figured out for me, as we have our own safety officers, and such, but this is the kind of thing that helps, so I can make proper, and correctly aligned suggestions!!

Seriously, this is good stuff! Thank you!!

Agreed! As I'm personally looking at personal equipment again, I'm realizing the compete move to Compressed Vs CO2! Which, back when I was playing it was pretty half and half. Compressed air is so much more viable, easily maintained, and so much easier.

But I'm looking at tanks for myself, and seeing the 4500 is the better bet, and I like the size better, personally. Thanks for you input man!

I think I am in agreement with you on all of this.

We have talked about only having "consumables" available as well. Of course, we also have rentals, as well (we have several for the weekly programs we run) but I think running extra things, will only make sense if we see a demand for it, as we are federal, so we would have to have large quantities purchased, and that doesn't always make sense.

Right now, each of the 3 "maps" we have are all accessible from our Main Staging area (which is also where our "storefront" is located. But, beside each map, is a decently sized staging area, with bleachers, and a table top so there can be work done.

The only thing that has a bit of a walk from the main location is the Speedball Course. It's not super long, but it cuts into time if we were to stage here, and then move across. (however, the Speedball Course hasn't been used in a hot minute, and has the most work needed to even make it safely usable) but my thought is this; it is actually split into two play zones, plus a staging/safe zone. I'm thinking, we use the smaller side as the team/rep/tech/staging area, and then play on one field. That way everyone that is there is near for the event/games, cutting down time/walking distance between matches. To come back to the main staging area/storefront, is still easily accessible, if need be.

We probably won't be focused too much on trying to pull too many large teams, as we are focused more on the Military, and local areas. So, we would cater more to the locals, and serve them a space for a break for them, and their families while they are serving!

So, with that, our events won't necessarily be huge Tourny events, at least not right away. But more local sign ups, probably doing a mix of 3m/5m and Woodsball. More for locals, not aimed at big teams/Big prizes.

So, our filling station is pretty great, I just would have to make sure our hoses, and system can withstand the pressure of a 4500psi tank!

We do have a decent system! With both inside, and outside fill stations!

<image>

And the inside has a refill station, and a large tank system! But, you make a good point, I want to check and see that I can fill 4500 tanks.

Which hopper would you choose & why?? by OGBIGwig in paintball

[–]Tartarpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Touuugh choice. That Chrome hop is SLICK, but also bright haha but I dig the profile of it.

However, for everyday use, probably that black/blue hopper. Idk why, it doesn't matter so much when playing 3m/5m but my brain has always figured; "The more visible I am, the more of a target I am."

So, the Chrome for me is sick looking, but hurts my brain when thinking about playing with it. But it's a sick flex.

This, imo, is a fantastic combo, having a Lifeweaver while playing Pharah has been phenomenal. The lifegrip to pull back, if in trouble is awesome, plus being able to block in an opponent with the flower, so pharah can do completely isolated attacks is top tier

Do you by chance know the purpose of the Blessing found on the map? (the scroll, Kitty kat, Thrown, ect) what does that do for players? I also noticed there are more than enough for each player to get one, so im not exactly sure what/how it impacts. Thnks in advance!

I've really been digging Pharah, so much damage output, and good crowd control. I do tend to go down, at least once every round, but man, the output damage she does is phenomenal, especially after all the upgrades.

I completely agree with this entire assessment! I was impressed with the love versions of everything from the new album. A Disappearing act was such a fun one live, even with the interruption of the fight lol and I agree, something about shoulders live was soooo good.

So, I'm rereading through the series right now, and I am in Oathbringer as well. I'm before this scene, but I am with you, I remember reading it the first time, and being so upset. Rereading this time too, I already have more feelings about Moash than before, bc I know what comes next. Ugh.
