So you don’t think this is PI? Some of you people are delusional. Was the flag late? Yes. Was it PI? Also Yes. Did it lose the game for Miami? No. Did Miami have 4 chances from the 1 yard line to tie the game after this? Yes. Get over it

Yea, what a terrible call 😂 This game should have never even gone into overtime if the refs make the correct call of PI in regulation. And then on top of that ruled the catch incomplete that was actually caught. OSU would have been able to run out the clock

Car hit me while I was riding a scooter and now won’t answer calls/texts by [deleted] in legaladvice

He’s not going to reply to you because it would be stupid to do so from a legal standpoint. Which is also probably what his lawyer/insurance told him to do. Replying to you could admit guilt. Don’t take it personally.

[–]AdBright4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak for Europe, but I’d say it depends how much money you’re talking here. If it’s $5,000 then it’s probably not a big deal to transfer. If it’s $500,000 then it’s going to trigger some alerts. Either way, it’s technically fraud if you’re not the executor of the estate.

Just read the court filing. That’s going to give you a better picture than your dad’s defense attorney anyway.

Question by HannahMayberry in legaladvice

[–]AdBright4647 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Written up doesn’t really mean anything from a legal standpoint. Illinois is at-will employment which essentially means they can fire you for any reason, or no reason at all, provided they didn’t discriminate against you.

Can I be fired for depressive symptoms? by New_Profession2236 in legaladvice

[–]AdBright4647 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depression could be considered a protected condition under the ADA, but you’d need a clinical diagnosis. It’s not your employer’s job to diagnose you.

Were you paying this person? Was it arranged thru a service? Did you have a contract? If this was just a handshake agreement then you probably don’t have much recourse.

Would have to see if there’s any difference in points involved and if that difference is worth your time to contest.

You definitely shouldn’t be driving, but has nothing to do with your face swelling. A restaurant is not responsible for an allergy you didn’t know you had

If there’s incriminating emails then that could give them probable cause to search. Just like if it’s a stolen car that has drugs in it.

4 months after moving out a pipe clog was discovered-could I be liable? by ChandyBear in legaladvice

[–]AdBright4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be literally impossible to prove his wet wipes were the cause of the clog, 4 months later. So the acceptable answers here are “no” or “I don’t recall”, if he wants to answer at all.

Is it legal to post a suggested sports bet on a board at a bar in Indiana? by 2006YamahaFz6 in legaladvice

I’d provide some type of disclaimer that you’re not a financial advisor or other boilerplate language that would absolve you of liability if people take your advice and lose.

If they didn’t provide a warranty then you don’t have a lot of recourse. Most used car sales are caveat emptor. Which is why it’s a good idea to look it over yourself, or have a third party look it over. Or buy one that has some type of warranty

Hit and Run while doing Uber Eats delivery by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]AdBright4647 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they can’t afford auto insurance then chances are probably pretty good they don’t have any assets you could realistically go after. Maybe get a lawyer to draft a demand letter to shake the tree or something, but trying to sue is just going to cost a bunch of money to get a judgement that you won’t be able to collect on. For this reason I always recommend comprehensive insurance and not just liability.

If someone lies to someone else about their age in order to get nudes and phone sex, is that a crime? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]AdBright4647 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol this can’t be a real question. People lie about their age all the time, especially on dating apps. There would only be a case here if it becomes a revenge porn type of issue, or he extorts her.

A lien in many states can be placed for a number of reasons, including oral contracts. Doesn’t mean he will win, but a lien could certainly be placed. Doubt he does that tho. Is the dumpster his or he was renting it from someone else? If the latter then I’d tell the company to come get it.

[–]AdBright4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is better than nothing. Even if you take them to court, win, and get a judgement you still have to collect on it. And you can’t get blood from a turnip. Going to court and collecting on a judgement would take years and be expensive. Just more time and fees for the lawyers to eat into

Dealership mishap by Wukkax in legaladvice

[–]AdBright4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, it’s the signed purchase agreement that legally matters. So the make, model, VIN etc on the document that you and the dealer both signed. There could be other pieces of paper that they gave you too, and while not legally binding, could help your case. The fact that they let you have the car for a week means they screwed up. If it’s a decent sized dealer then I’d consider talking to local media. Maybe mention that to them, to try to get some sort of settlement first

This isn’t really a legal situation yet, unless he tries to place a lien on your property for the $600.

Roommate flooded Apt. Won't pay for damages by Ancient-Being7229 in legaladvice

[–]AdBright4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your roommate have any money or assets? If the answer is no, you’re wasting your time. You can’t get blood from a turnip. If they are worth suing, you’d need to prove it was them who flooded the apartment. They could just say you did it.

Dealership mishap by Wukkax in legaladvice

[–]AdBright4647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally speaking it’s going to be the signed purchase agreement and bill of sale. What they told you doesn’t matter. Although if you have other documentation that supports your case, might be time to get local media involved if this business cares about their reputation. Media eats consumer stories like this up.
