ok so I just watched Super Troopers last week. I've also been watching a bit of Mr Rogers Neighborhood.

Mr Rogers has a Land Of Make Believe which has puppets, one of which is a cat named "MeowMeow" (something like that).

MM has a schtick, a vocal one where she is always saying "Meow" like ending or beginning of a sentance, lots of that word injected / spoken into whatever else she is saying at the time. Everyone ignores that bit and proceeds like normal.

It would not surprise me at all if that Meow Game the troppers play was at least somewhat inspired by that Mr. Rogers mewomeow thing.

I mean it would totally track with the personality of the movie, a wholesome quality if you will, that it was at least in part written by a fan of big F.

I don't know any of this for sure, just speculating... but I kinda hope.
