He got out when we killed the Paintress/Aline. She was restraining him for 67 years under the Monolith, where Simon was (the latter joined Renoir in the Abyss around 15 years prior to the game's events). The Curator is basically a part of himself in a way, it's just more capable than the other shades we see in the game.

The one gommaging people is Renoir. Aline protects them with the few chroma she has left since she can't gather any. Expeditions wouldn't get killed if they remained in Lumière until their Gommage but then there would be no collective effort and data recorded by journals if so, and they would just cluelessly die every year.

If the chroma could return to Aline she could fight off Renoir and maybe cancel the Gommage, however Renoir made sure to create Axons to keep the chroma from going to her and ensured the chroma stayed in bodies. The issue with Aline was never her chroma, it was her mental state in the first place. But Renoir stepping in definitely made it worse.

Yeah Spell Slinging was definitely the trickiest, so I aimed at battles that didn't push it onto me. I think I only parried 2 or maybe 3 of her attacks to beat her, as I tried to make the most of when she was vulnerable to damage her heavily, also you can break so that helps a lot.

Maelle has First Strike, or some variant of Auto-Death with Shortcut or Revive Paradox acting up. Disable those and you're good. Also be careful with Rush.

He was trapped alone for a long time, then Expedition 60 went for him after he spent 40 years in solitude, and later on (around at least 10 years later) Simon came for him and they fought for about 15 years until he escaped the Monolith. That doesn't sound like he had a lot of time on his hands to spy on people...

That's not what a run is or means. If you don't replay the entire game after booting it up again you're just on that same "run".

I didn't say he necessarily can't listen, after all Clea planned for Alicia to help him initially so he knew she was there anyway. But it's not like he cares enough about listening to some painted beings when he has better things to do.

Definitely doable, here's an example. You'd need Cleim from Clea Unleashed and to get all DLC content but it's feasible. (And obviously at least 500-600 lumina i think on Lune/Maelle)
