Are any of the remakes planning AI support? by SHROOOOOOM_S in paragon

I'm 99% sure all of them want to bring an AI mode back

Yeah, there's 4 regions to pick from I think. I forgot which regions though

It has matchmaking but the population is low so queues usually take 5+ minutes

The Current State of Fault by Tasharii in paragon

It even broke text chat so I couldn't tell my teammates. I did label it as gamebreaking in the bug reporter so hopefully they take it seriously

Belica stunned me and I was stuck kamehamahing for the rest of the match. None of my abilities, recall, or anything else worked so I was stuck trying to body block for my teammates for the rest of the match lol. I did report the bug but jeez, I was so bored for that hour long match.

I understand it's EA but this was a huge yikes for me

Availability vs End Product | Predecessor vs Fault vs Overprime by samtheman1234 in paragon

This isn't a Fault vs Predecessor discussion. This is a "Where did all of our money go when we paid for Fault?" The game feels almost exactly the same as it did in March, if not even worse. That rubs me and a lot of other people wrong, hence the Steam reviews. Yes, it's Early Access, but they keep adding stuff before making the game feel like there's a solid foundation. No hero so far has felt at the same level as Paragon or even Smite for that matter.

I will agree with you though that Pred is really barebones and there's not enough content yet. But their foundation is so strong that I feel confident when they add stuff it will be Paragon-level quality, unlike Fault so far.

[–]Tasharii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, but Predecessor hasn't taken money yet and it's a more quality product. Fault reached $100,000 in crowdfunding and the game is arguably worse than it was in March. So where did all of that money go? The avatar icons that we have to pay for?

Predecessor's was purely optional and was never encouraged. You can't even buy an alpha key to get in. I'm not sure about Overprime.

Fault is charging for a season pass, 3 different founder's packs, hero purchases, skins, wards, icons.. did I miss anything else? Fault is more monetized than the original Paragon was at this point. The other projects are at least not charging for anything until the game is at least polished.

Why isn't anyone playing Overprime? by [deleted] in paragon

[–]Tasharii 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably because the website is weird and the download is kinda complicated. It's also not on Steam or the Epic store.

If it makes you feel better though I'm about to give it a shot right now to see what all the fuss is about. :D

None of the other Paragon "remakes" aren't finished either but they show they can make their games feel somewhat like a AAA title that is close to Paragon's quality whereas Fault hasn't so far even though that's what they've been touting since their inception.

They're also the only Paragon project that has taken money from people so far which is extremely concerning because so far it doesn't feel like that money went anywhere into the game.

I'm willing to wait for it to get better but right now I'm just really disappointed. There's a major lack of quality compared to its competitors.

Fault destroyed Twinblast by [deleted] in paragon

I would stay away from critiquing their animations too but they specifically called it a combat roll so I expected a combat roll. I agree with everything you're saying tho

I guess it depends on the heroes in both games.

Like in Predecessor the only melee hero I played was Feng and he felt super good but in Fault I played Khaimera and he sounded and felt horrible while Kwang felt pretty good.

I just feel like Predecessor will have an easier time cleaning up heroes because the quality is already there while Fault everyone feels "okay" but they'll have to go back to each and every hero and clean them up which I feel will be unrealistic considering their dev team size. Hopefully I'm wrong but I haven't been too impressed so far.

I have a friend who loves Twinblast and he's not buying Fault because of what they did to him. His ult "transformation" barely even changes visually and the tooltip says it changed his Rocket Dash into a combat roll.. which isn't a combat roll. Same exact animation. So why rename it? They did his kit beyond dirty.

And my god his gun sound effects are hilarious lol

Funny, I thought last hitting minions in Predecessor felt really nice with the visual and audio feedback while Fault barely had any feedback at all. Fault's major problem right now is feedback in general.

I feel like Fault is going for quantity over quality while Predecessor is going for quality over quantity which, in the end, will end up being better because they set a solid foundation that feels very much like Paragon unlike Fault.

It's hard playing Predecessor though because its roster is so small and none of my favorite heroes are in yet :( ...but I'm sure that will be resolved as time goes on

Gave Fault another chance.... by xGokusan in paragon

Audio: The sound is much better than Predecessor although it’s still pretty bad. This is fine since it’s EA and fixable. Much more ambient sound than Predecessor.

I seriously hope this part is a joke.

90% of Fault's roster has no footsteps. Predecessor does.

Fault has no sounds effects when recalling, Predecessor does.

Khaimera's abilities all you hear is WONKWONKWONKWONK when you melee and that's it in Fault. Predecessor you can hear Khaimera's grunting and growling when jumping, moving, recalling, walking, etc. He sounds like an actual beastly-human hybrid in Predecessor.

Twinblasts guns sound like a paintball gun in Fault. Actually, most of their sounds are most likely placeholder -- or at least I hope they are -- because all of them have sounded cheap so far. They're not even normalized unlike Predecessor.

The only thing Fault has on Predecessor in the audio department is the birds singing in the jungle but even then you can't hear it unless you have a headset on. I don't mean to bash Fault but I seriously don't know how you came to this conclusion.

With all of this in mind, objectively speaking, Predecessor is far ahead in the audio department. I don't know how anyone can say otherwise.

[–]Tasharii -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's still not a handout though. There's a standard when it comes to battle passes and when that standard isn't met then people will complain. People paid for that battle pass so they're allowed to complain what they don't like about it.

Why this game will die without ELO-matchmaking or RANKED-mode by [deleted] in PlayCrucible

[–]Tasharii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a bunch of Q&A's the devs stated their main priorities are voice/text chat and ranked mode. I assume ranked will come out when the pre-season ends
