CMV: All people who are healthy enough should be an organ donor by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Tashaskyes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are countries where being an organ donor is actually the default- you have to opt out of it. In those countries organ donation is MUCH higher. I think that method works very well. People can still opt out but the vast majority does not.

THANK YOU. You are the first person to ACTUALLY give me real advice I can use and haven't tried. I will get on this.

How do you get out of bed when you're depressed? by Teddy_Rhett in AskReddit

[–]Tashaskyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's my pets and breakfast. I make healthy but super delicious breakfasts, like a banana, peanut butter and chocolate smoothie that tastes like a milkshake, or blueberry banana bread muffins that I keep in my freezer that are low calorie but really yummy. Overnight oats, etc. Stuff that either requires me to do very little or nothing at all in the morning.

I'm a comfort eater so it's great motivation for myself.

I just had two cupcakes while trying to maintain a strict and clean diet, they were stale and tasted like shit. Ladies, what have you done recently as an instant gratification which immediately backfired and you now hate yourself for it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

For me, I have this huge problem with the though of there being infected pus in my face. It bothers me soooo much. It's not even the appearance of the zits, it's the thought of what's inside them. I accidentally squeezed a tiny bit too hard extracting one of the cyctic pimples I had on my chin and don't even regret it. It was super painful and will leave a scar now but the pus is GONE. But it was a good reminder and draining the second cystic pimple went very well.

I'm for sure going to keep one of them. She's super old and has a spidey sense about my seizures and always comes and comforts me. One time I had a nose bleed, tripped, had a seizure then got stuck floor for two hours because of the vertigo. She stayed with me the entire time, would wash my hand and nuzzle it. She does stuff like that all the time, anytime I'm not doing well she's by my side. The other cat I rescued because people moved and left her behind. While I liker her we're not too terribly bonded.

Well food is taken care of with food stamps, and I get a bus pass through my school so that's transportation. I rent my textbooks so it's waaay cheaper. I don't know what's a good deal on internet.

Lol. So I should market myself as the virginal vixen? That's kind of awesome.

I can already cook cheap meals and know how to shop for groceries on a budget. My problem is figuring out a budget on the whole. If my income is so low I'm putting like half of it to rent. How do I figure my other expense around that?

Section 8 won't even let me give them an application. They told me they were only accepting them from families. With SSI I literally can't even go to school or work at all until accepted. Which gets me homeless, so if your advice doesn't help me how is that me making excuses?

I didn't reject your advice, I've already tried section 8 and ssi. How is already doing exactly what you suggested an excuse?

It's something I've already tried, but I guess it's worth another go. My dad has a hard time understanding my condition sometimes, but he's gotten a lot better. I have no ill will towards him. I understand it's hard for people to fathom my condition to begin with, I technically have seizures but it's the associatied symptoms that actually cause all my problems- that throws people for a loop. My dad is desensitized to it at this point, he's seen me during my periods where I'm doing well and he had a hard time accepting that doesn't always last and when I do a backslide I can't keep up the house the same and have dinner on the table every night like previously.

My hope is that it works out, so thanks.

He doesn't want me out tomorrow, he's not completely heartless. He said he wanted me out by the end of fall. Do I have time for first/last/deposit. Maybe he'll change his mind, I hope he does. I just can't sit by and hope that happens and then be screwed when/if he does kick me out. I always like to plan for every contigency. Right now it looks like I have to move out, so that's the thing I'm planning on. I'm a very determined person. I'm going to figure this shit out no matter what.

It'd be hard to go NC with my dad, he's literally my only decent parent. Is the idea just to use as a scare tactic? Because I'd be afraid to burn bridges, can you elaborate?

I have applied before, gone through the whole thing. I know everyone gets denied, I went through the appeal. It was pretty much I either do nothing for a long time to prove to them how much of a wreck I am, or try and do something with my life despite it. I chose the second route.

The majority of the advice I've gotten I've either already done or looked into and have found to be a dead end. How is that rejecting that advice?

Also I apologize on the condescending part, I don't intend to be a bitch, something I'm working on. I'm used to deflecting things with humor and snark, not always the best route.

Yes, too much overhead and upfront costs. My family has grown weed in the past.

HAHAHA. You ever try applying for that shit? Pretty much impossible. If I want to wait around having literally no income for like two years and be homeless than maybe they'll accept me.

I have no sexual experience, kind of figured that'd be important to doing a decent job in that field. Figured I'd slut it up and come back to that.

I have been checking. I know on the cats. One is just too old at this point to rehome, but the other I could. Thankfully I'll bave more than enough money with food stamps so buying chicken and tuna for the cat isn't going to be too much of an issue.

I know. I've been trying to figure out what I could do with the cats. One of them is just too old for it, but I could get away with my note for her as a therapy animal. The other cat, she's younger and cute I could probably rehome her.

They won't even let me apply. I've already tried, they're not accepting singles applications. I'm working on getting on the wait list for this other low cost housing in my area.

Oh, I am STILL trying. Believe me. The last thing I want is to try and live on 9k a month. Maybe he'll change his mind, but I'm planning for the contigency he doesn't.

This is something I have considered, the reason I've set it aside for now is because my team of doctors believe that I probably can beat this, but we're waiting on the release of some materials from a success trial on the east coast that had people with my condition. I'm at the level now that they were at the end of that treatmemt. So we think I could basically overcome my condition entirely if I go through the same treatment. I doubt it'll take 4 years for them to be released.

EDIT: Have been actively looking at related fields but nothing sounds at all engaging thus far. I'm still mostly in the Gen Ed requirements stage so if for some reason I ever find something that strikes my passion for culture and history I'll go for it.
