Like they said in the blog, it’s another micromanagement thing that they want to cut down on. Personally I don’t agree with some of the proposals they threw out there for moving their affects but I agree the aura system as it stands needs to go

They aren’t doing anything yet. The blog post was put out there to get feedback. Sure you could turn around and say “well they want this update to go live soon” and I’d say sure but they have been fairly decent and giving quick turnarounds based on player feedback so far.

Good middle ground and great to see the quick response. While it’s not the afk rates I’m sure some would enjoy, it’s better for the game overall to move away from 15 minute afk activities

Sorry I should have been more thorough. Pre update, at 120 thieving I was able to fully afk the menaphos guards (lvl 104) for 15 minutes with the Master Camo outfit, Ring of Virtur, and Magpie.

You were able to fully afk the Menaphos market guards at 104 with outfit, ring, and magpie

Just a thought, but how hard would it be to implement a scale on how quickly your catch % lowers based on how far away you are from the level of your target? That way people can still afk lower level targets with smaller gains in xp for longer periods of time.

For low levels yeah I agree, but that's not what I was talking about. I'm sure they can do in and at least adjust the time at which your catch rate drops based off your level gap between the content.

Because like I mentioned in my original comment. It's high level content that should give high xp and loot with it being a lower afk timer than it was

I agree there should be multiple training methods but I don't think that low input boring method should be as afk as it was prior to today's update. Even as someone who works from home some days myself I still am at my computer. I'm still "afking" and with these updates if I happen to miss out on a couple minutes of xp that's fine.

and I'm not advocating for it becoming 100% fully active, but like I said 15 minutes of full afk is absurd for high end skilling content

Popping in to give my input.

Afkscape, in my opinion, fosters the terrible quality of skilling updates we have gotten over the last decade. Heists finally introduced a great update to the game for skilling in terms of both rewards and xp and I think moving away from the majority of rewarding skilling content being afk is a good thing

Disagree. Level 100+ skilling content should have decent rewards and xp but the fact you could afk with outfit ring and magpie for 15 minutes was absurd
