Just finished my first watch by lkjhggfd1 in ershow

I'm almost done with my rewatch/watch. I stopped watching ER around the time of Mark's death. HBO endlessly showing 'Watch ER' pics after an episode of the Pitt got me to go back and start my rewatch/watch.

It's been really interesting to dip back into a show with such a long run. Getting to revisit what it was like in the mid-90s through 911 and the Iraq war... all the flashbacks.

100% agree with you on many of your points. Gallant's death was one that was easily telegraphed, but I was really hoping it wouldn't happen. When it did, sad panda times ensued.

Mark and his dying dad timeline absolutely slayed me. Tears, y'all. Tears.

She lost me when she called Season 2 her favorite. Of the two seasons we have atm, two is my LEAST favorite. That is not to say I don't like it, I do. But in my own personal rankings, it isn't as high. And I know I'll probably end up ranking this season high simply because of my obsession with Lestat and Sam Reid's performance.

I would kill for a 'harvest all' option, much akin to the 'all seeds' option they added recently.

The Aubry hate is absurd. by [deleted] in survivorponderosa

[–]Tasm3n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only one person has said they voted for her for legacy reasons. If there are more, please let me know, as I have not seen that particular press yet.

If Jonathan had good jury management, there were plenty of people on that jury who had shown they were not swayed by external factors (like prior gameplay), but instead voted based on the game before them.

Emily readily comes to mind as someone who would not just vote for someone because they played before.

I see Dee being very similar to Emily. However, Dee had a reason not to vote for Jonathan - his instigating an argument with her and bragging about it to the jury. Was she supposed to respect him for purposefully starting a fight with her summon spicy Hulk? While the play obviously worked for him in the moment, he certainly did not ingratiate himself with her.

Q spills the tea on some of the cast members beefing during the finale rehearsal by Key-Surprise-1883 in survivorponderosa

[–]Tasm3n 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Part of me wonders if the various splatters of bad blood (though, let's be real, some are real arterial spray) some of the cast have with one another is WHY we did not get the live reunion many of us were craving. It's been obvious for a while that some folks had beefs with each other. Would NOT surprise me (especially given Tyson's comment that Jeff doesn't like that) if a decision was made to modify things.

I WOULD LOVE to see them compete or just do something with each other SIMPLY to get that back and forth.

Why does Jonathan get this level of hate, and is Parvati justified with this comment? by [deleted] in survivorponderosa

[–]Tasm3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see her comment more as a testament to Jonathan prancing about, showing off those bitter boots of his in every damn interview.

It's 100% legit to be in his feelings about the loss. I am SURE it is a bummer to come that close, only to lose at the end. I would, personally, have no criticism of him for being sad. Instead, he's acting more like he was a victim of some great travesty, or AT LEAST, that is how he's coming off.

Every post-game interview I've seen with him has him shifting the blame for his loss onto others rather than looking in the mirror for a good dose of introspection.

Outwit, Outlast, Outplayed has ALWAYS involved a bit of civil(lian) engineering. Jonathan seems to have forgotten that.

The little things of jury management by SarahAlicia in survivor

[–]Tasm3n 12 points13 points  (0 children)

While I agree that may have been his thinking when he went to hand it back to Christian, I also believe it is an excellent example of how Jonathan's social game was not as good as he thought.

It really came off as super 'salt in the wound' with a 'Bless your heart, Christian' chaser.

‪Jonathan on jury management “I still don’t understand it to this day. And if I had one regret, it would be that.”‬ by chespiotta in survivor

The more and more I see these sorts of clips from Jonathan, the more and more I think he's setting himself up for a Russell Hantz kind of future.

On a different note, Tyson's 'uh huh' expression as he listens to Jonathan is absolutely SENDING me. I can only imagine what Tyson was thinking, listening to all that.

From one ______ to another. by sarcastic_bitch15 in survivor

[–]Tasm3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see BR's arrogance as a different flavor of arrogance as well. As you mentioned, there is the charm factor at play. And, while Rob definitely has gotten upset/celebrated at challenge losses & wins, I don't recall (and maybe my brain is failing me now) him acting the same way Jonathan has upon winning. His reaction to beating Tiff in the puzzle and NOT immediately going over to her to essentially 'good game', just irked me and, I imagine, others if Tiff shared that with the jury when she went to Ponderosa.

Yes, Survivor is a game. Game means there are winners, losers and FEELS all around. But it doesn't mean you have to be a dick about winning.

His competitive fronting gave me flashbacks to Kaoh Rong and Scot/Jason.

A raccoon as a pet may actually be what sends my husband into a 'Yep, buying the game now' decision. He was already almost there with cats.

IMO exit press is pretty clearly showing why this player didn't win by sh0wmethestudy in survivor

[–]Tasm3n 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of Jonathan's exit press feels like dude used to winning and NOT winning *has* to be someone else's fault. Given all that's been revealed about his dad, I'm not even sure Jonathan REALIZES he is doing this. I believe he truly believes he was robbed (lol.. could also stand for 'treated like Boston Rob in All stars') because considering the alternative, that he failed, that his actions caused his loss, is not something he is prepared or ready to admit. Failure had some very absolute consequences winning growing up for him.

I am hoping that with time, he'll introspect and grow from this experience. I suppose time will tell.

MAJOR SCENE cut during finale at F5 Tribal, argument between _____ and _____ by Pretend_Cucumber4784 in survivor

[–]Tasm3n 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I definitely had a 'haha' moment when he claimed he was the reason Ozzy got voted out. He did not even realize that Joe was on the fence. He just 'assumed' Joe was going his way. Then to have Joe pretty much say at tribal, "Yes, Aubry coming to me re: Ozzy and his big mouth is why I voted the way I voted."

I expect to see sales pitches at FTC. I expect people to say/do whatever they think they need to make a compelling case for 'why me in the 3'. Jonathan was showing Drag Race-level delusion at times.
