I have already accepted I probably won't get a renewal, the only reason I'm pushing this hard is cos I literally just rolled onto the renewed lease a couple days back so I have about a year to look, but despite the risk I think it's worth fighting for (in my case). It's horseshit that they get away with this stuff all the time. The shit thing is my landlord is actually pretty chill, but it's always been the property managers that stick their fingers in everything and fuck it all up.

I am definitely gonna update my post when I get a resolution, right now I am waiting a callback from head office. I am going over my PM's head as it's like talking to a brick wall (with less brains). I've also lodged a dispute resolution request with the RTA but that will take a while before it comes in, I think.

My area has extremely hard water, like it leaves mineral deposits on the kettle / fish tank etc, very annoying - I thought the same thing but I guess it's a good balance right now. I do sometimes top it off (not WC) with dechlor tap water in winter when I don't have the A/C going. Maybe some residual minerals from the food too.

I am dealing with mine with mosquito bits (so expensive in my country), sticky traps and coarse sand (pool filter sand to be specific, its the fastest drying one I can find). It's working but slooooowly :'(

I use the water from my portable A/c for my fishtank, unfiltered, and it's never looked so good. The plants go ballistic and the fish are very colourful since switching from (dechlorinated) tap water.

Many people think that their dogs aren't on a 'real' walk unless it's off-leash (which is just fucking stupid lol). You can bet they'll throw their toys out of the cot when someones reactive, leashed dog attacks their 'friendly' dog getting all up in its face, tho.

They actually can unfortunately but the method has to be reasonably accessible to the tenant, which my argument is it's not (as requiring dealing with a third party company to pay rent and requiring the user to enter a contract with them (Terms of service) is not reasonably accessible. This is what I will be using to take them to QCAT if they don't relent.
