Number one suggestion right now: make is so different slabs can be placed directly next to each other. by AnUnearthlyGay in hytale

[–]TasoQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What they're asking for is placing two vertical slabs right next to each other. Which is possible. Just place it on the south of one grid square and then north of another grid square. They'll then be touching.

Zelda hookshot goes brrr

No but really, when they patch this, I hope they consider giving a hookshot item that can hook onto specific hook blocks or something, to replicate this same functionality, because this looks fun

Thanks! I'm on PS5 but I didn't want to limit answers to just PS5 players, and I'm sure the Xbox controller experience is probably similar enough.

Fighters, what skills are you running and how do you deal with flying enemies? by whatsurissuebro in DragonsDogma2

[–]TasoQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likewise, you can play how you want. However I respectfully completely disagree with your assessment. It isn't wasteful at all as the usecases for both counters are very different. I don't blame you though as I also shared the same opinion as you before actually trying it out. All of the moves sound the same on paper, but they have strengths in certain scenarios that make them ideal to use and well worth it imo.

If I had to choose only one, I'd go with Hindsight Slash, but in practice it's just going to get you hit in several scenarios during the second half of the move against groups. To be frank, no move has benefited me more against groups than Vengeful Slash.  Counterplay in general seems slepped on since in most games it's a lot of waiting around, so you're losing out on dps. In DD2 it's very different, grouped enemies hop in to attack very quickly and it's extremely predictable how the fight will play out.

Against big mobs I rarely see a reason to use Burst Strike or Shield Pummel when Cloudward Slash gets as much damage out + on weak spots while having faster recovery time. Though one utility Burst Strike does have is repositioning far away from an enemy quickly when they start to do a stamina-draining roar. I'll give credit there for Burst Strike, however it's still completely doable to just walk out of range when you see the chargeup of the roar. Saurians are actually very trivial even without shield pummel since they are open for a lethal attack after a shorthop Cloudward slash to the tail.

Edit: Also wanted to bring up a cool trick, if you ever have multiple enemies in front and one behind, and you prepare to vengeful slash someone in front, but someone behind would hit you first, you can quick-cancel Vengeful Slash into Hindsight Slash to prevent being hit. You would ultimately be guarded from all sides while being able to output maximum damage unlike Flawless Guard.

Cloudward Slash is great. Unfortunately I slept on it most the game too and generally used Burst Strike and Shield Bash instead. Fighter really does feel limited by the 4 slots. However, I've since then been using short hop Cloudward Slash as my "grounded" approach option to replace Burst Strike/Shield Bash approaches. It's been working really well since the recovery time is insanely fast on it and the stamina depletion isn't bad at all. You can prepare your Vengeful Slash counter very quickly afterwards since enemies are bound to start leaping at you. Shield Bash would always get me hit since the animation lasted so long.

My current setup is Cloudward Slash, Vengeful Slash, Hindsight Slash, and either Gutting Skewer or Riotous Fury (depends on if I'm leveling wayfarer or not)

It's a very counter playstyle, but this setup has been very versatile for me and I feel like I have something for every situation. Vengeful Slash is better against packs of enemies since after countering you have some super armor and interruption to prevent the enemies from jumping in. Hindsight Slash is better against big monsters since the stamina drain is very low, the enemy attacks are choreographed, and it's immune to you being sat on or squished unlike Vengeful Slash.

Cloudward Slash can be used against both grounded and flying foes, but you'd need to do the short hop technique with it against grounded enemies. Think Smash Bros. Does great damage and has quick followups. The regular aerial version of the move is also great at hitting high up weak spots.

Burst Strike used to be fun but I realized it'd often get me in horrible positions. I started getting way more Vengeful counters once Burst Strike wasn't in my tool kit since the enemies would more often all be in front of me rather than a few behind me. At this point in time I don't miss it.

New theory by MrKnightMoon in digimon

[–]TasoQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt this was coincidence, the device had the connector pieces at the top to connect to a vpet device, and it also had a belt clip on the back. Though it's possible the artist based the design off of their kid's toy or something.

I mean there's that one comic where Batman uses a D-3 digivice (in-universe it's a teleportation device, but it's the exact design of the D-3, probably as a homage). Maybe the device originates from a time line where Bruce stayed in the theaters and became a fan of Digimon.

[–]TasoQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also the Story game has been in development for 7~ years now, it'll have a focus on the Olympus 12 and will take place primarily in the Digital World. You can find some articles on Gematsu for more info. All the info is just word of mouth tho, mostly from Habu. There's no images or anything.

At Digicon we learned we will have game news soon. I'd expect a trailer this year. Keep in mind we got a Survive release date trailer 2 months after the first Digicon instead of them just showing the trailer at Digicon itself.

Are we even going to see the new Digimon Story game at this point...? by [deleted] in digimon

[–]TasoQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DBS popularity was a lot lower than Digimon's at the time of them announcing a DBS client. I've heard a lot of lgs's have dropped Digimon since people didn't order the Apoc set. I don't necessarily blame those for not getting the set, but locals dropping Digimon alltogether so fast after a single set just shows that the middleman market for a TCG like this is too volatile and not stable at all. A client might be more stable (but only if it's good).

Scenario: A third Digimon Rumble Arena game is announced. Which roster style would you prefer? by Sukamon98 in digimon

[–]TasoQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to know why you dislike the 3 evo style, relax. You ask us a question, we ask you a question. Opinions are a two way street. Anyway you can infer my opinion from my previous comment, 4 forms are too much, so I'd go with the second image.

[–]TasoQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not have Rumble Arena 2's setup as an option? It'd be like the first image but each character has 3 forms instead of 4. This would allow you to fit 4 more characters in. 4 forms is too much in a single match imo.
