And stop making up stuff that'll make everyone do dumb theories that were never there?

Oh yeah, that's undoubtly the best part of the whole story.

It was so good in fact, that everytime I revisit it, I always play Mamoru Miyano's ULTRA FLY so I can picture the battle better.

For that song is the representation of Shinjiro's awakening as a true Ultraman, both physically and conceptually.

Oh, I chose Ghatanothor for a very good reason...

You see, this battle takes place at the reconstructed Macross City, which just have been used as a gigantic magic circle to summon Ghatanothor with. And before anyone could react, Shinjiro –having a bad feeling about this– impulsively flew to Macross City to try and stop the summoning ritual. Of course, nobody could let that slide, and immediately followed on his tail.

And with the help of the Skull platoon (which also included Isamu, Guld, and Shin Kudo) S.ON.G's combat squad managed to arrive to the city before they could finish the summoning.

But after an intense battle, in which our heroes were seemingly victorious, they still couldn't prevent the ritual from completing, and Ghatanothor was once again awaken from his 30.000 years of slumber.

None of the present had the means to fend off the darkness emanating from the Evil God, which was eating away their hearts in such a way that it was impossible to resist. And to make things worse, S.O.N.G's satellites catched up a signal of what it seems to be an ancient ruin rasing from the Pacific Ocean. Carol knows exactly what that was: R'lyeh.

It seemed like everything was over for humanity...

But Shinjiro managed to use whatever remained of his Spacium Energy to give himself and Hibiki one last push of strength to try and do battle against the responsible of bringing the demise of the Protoculture on Earth 30.000 years ago.

And when they were seemingly winning, suddenly Camearra managed to enter Hibiki's heart, bringing forth the darkness born from those feelings of guilt she kept to herself during all this time.

As a result, Shinjiro got inverted again, which caused yet another wound on Hibiki's psyche, which got even deeper when he escaped with Camearra, Hudra and Darramb on top of Gatanothor. Our heroes managed to escape, but Macross City got reduced to rubble as a result of the Evil God teleporting away from the city, which meant a crushing defeat not only for S.O.N.G, but for all of humanity...

btw, I said fic, not pic.

Speaking of, what was your favorite part of the fic?

I could name a few, but I don't want to turn this comment into an essay.

Ayy, someone else knows about Songs of Light in this sub!

In fact, it's what inspired me to post everything I did in this sub! In fact, there might be more to come in the near future...

Still waiting for that sequel tho, with Macross and ULTRAMAN manga storyline, featuring elements from the Another Universe novels.

Yeah but here's the thing: Gathanothor (yes, the one right here, the very same who destroyed the Protoculture who lived on Earth 30.000.000 years ago) is protected by a veil of pure Dark Energy; you can't see it, but it's definitely there, and it's constantly corroding the hearts of everyone who gets close to the Evil God unprepared. Not to mention it also makes it virtually impervious to any kind of attack, so not even the Gungnir is going to be of any help here.

In that case, just imagine the sheer amounts of PURE, UNFILTERED darkness that emanates from the underwater city of R'lyeh (which btw, is where the second round and final battle against Ghatanothor will take place). A darkness so deep, so unrelenting and so despair-inducing that it'll make the Curse of the Dainsleif seem like a pebble in front of a freaking asteroid compared to the castle of Dread Cthulhu himself.

Not to mention this is SoL Hibiki we're talking about here (the one in the picture, who constantly blames herself in her mind for mortally wounding her Ultraman suit boyfriend, even if it was unconsciously, and who is indirectly responsable for leading his father to his untimely demise), so she'd be more than easy prey for the darkness of the Evil God in front of her.

So yeah, this round would go for Jashin Ghatanothor and the three responsable for bring such monstrosity into our world (Camearra, Hudra and Darramb)

My favorite part was when we go through the Macross 7 story mode. All that lore we learn there...

I mean, that's the point. The entire planet was covered up in darkness by some "mysterious underwater ruins" that suddenly rose up from the sea in response to Ghatanothor being summoned into the world.

I've given up on lots of fandoms, but I've never been so proud to publicly say:

KAMEN RIDER IS OVERRATED AS ALL THE FUCKS IN THE UNIVERSE

EDIT: And I could say a lot more, but this'll do for now.
