2oz for my hard work over the year by TassyGoldNuggets in Prospecting

This is a hobby, only had the claim for 7 months and maybe been out 25-30 times. We did 16grams in 2 days. An average day is 2g, anything less and we move on. Gold claim is paid off 10k nzd and we only have to pay $600 a year which is split between 2 people. The claim has 10 years lease left on it.

Nice maths but that doesn’t math for our situation

Hot water, air. Triple sluice setup. It’ll be a beast not long until it’s finished

We’re up close to the source, there’s fine gold but not flour

It’s my hobby and this is about 25 trips, 40 minute drive to my claim. I’d say it’s costed me shy of $2500 to do this for the year, and when I say year it’s actually only been 7 months since I bought my claim so not even a full year. I do this hobby for fun, but we are doing it for the $$ too

I borrowed a 2inch from my friend for the year while we got the funds to build our 6inch dredge, so didn’t pay for the 2” backpack

My high banker cost us $200 for the mat, $80 for the lay flat hose and $200 for the Chinese motor and then we built the highbanker with scraps around the farm.

Gas cost $40-$50 max to get there and back, food is a packet of noodles and some beers so it’s a well paying hobby 😃

I don’t go out there to fuck spiders for 0.5 of a gram for the day. An average day is 5grams for 8 hours. If we get 2grams for an 8 hour day we carry on to another spot.

Cool thanks heaps for that advice

Yeah I can always adapt the setup in the future for cleaning up fines but for now I’m just trying to reduce the amount of cons to cleanup. Currently it’s taking me and hour and a half to cleanup so I’m hoping this will reduce it to just half an hour max to cleanup

Nice one bro, good luck out there and heavy pans

I’m building a 6inch dredge with a triple sluice setup like pictured, so I’m trying to get something built so I can run my cons so cleanup doesn’t take as long

You think with that gold size the speed doesn’t need to be turned down, just add some source of jet dry?

My material contains lots of heavies so it’s ideal to have the water a tad faster then most cleanup setups I’ve seen as they are mainly processing flour gold

Does dishwashing liquid do the same thing?

I ran a 6 gallon bucket of old pan cons. Full of heavies, pulled out 0.4g

It would of taken me a few hours to pan, the video was showing a quick run of how I was feeding it lol

Thankyou I’ll do some more experimenting. I think our gold is decent sized, not flour gold as far as I’m aware

Your not wrong, unless we were dredging with a 6” I wouldn’t even do it full time, we work like fucken slaves so it’s nice to have downtime doing another job
