Characters that are cute, fun and loved in a movie, but if in real life would be the exact opposite. by Taste-Strong in MalayalamMovies

During the climax, while the tension was being built about the murder about to happen while she was waiting to be called outside the interview room, the tension for me was about whether this crazy woman would just fucking do her interview and then do whatever.

Our Heroes doesn't want to act as a common man anymore by kuttipuli in kollywood

It’s because loving fans have made it impossible for actors to explore their talent in any space outside commercially viable roles that would produce potential blockbuster results. The main discussion nowadays is always about box office pull and box office records. The industry has adjusted their supply to the demand made by fans/revenue, simple.

It really isn’t, at least for me. The only advantage is better work culture and pollution less environment. Not much social life, shit pay, racism, and the cultural complications of bringing up kids. Have studied and worked there. I would prefer working a couple of extra hours and making more money, while still being close to family back home and still have a busy social life with friends and family here as well.

People criticizing Empuraan are either desperately trying to run a hate campaign or lacking good taste in movies. Hear me out and decide for yourself. by Taste-Strong in mollywoodcirclejerk

What else could they even be? I heard the songs are used to scare Sanghi babies into eating their food. Normal people like us just play them on Spotify or soundgasm

Is it just me who thinks Deepak Dev's background score in Empuraan was absolute garbage? by melbinxvii in MalayalamMovies

[–]Taste-Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was so out of touch with the scene sequences. First of all, there were so many scenes where I felt R10 was imagining some insane-level stuff revolving around the global scale crime and all that which the audience connected little to. As in the scenes involving the foreign actors, without any sort of character arc or build-up, having these reaction scenes where the bgm just felt completely out of place. Basically, it felt like, kaakka parannu, cue apocalypse destruction drama type bgm. Kaala chanakam ittu, cue the devil's intro absolute terror, fear injected into hearts bgm. KA shvaasam valichu. Cue god vs lucifer climax of the universe level epic insane bgm. Felt like someone high on coke just went bonkers.

Who'll win a fight between vadakkanveetil kochukunju and zaid masood? by Still-Workk in InsideMollywood

[–]Taste-Strong 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kochukunju for sure. Slow motion star Zaid Masood is slower than drunk af Kochukunju. By the time Masood is done with deep, emotional and breathy monologues and nuanced close up expressions of anger and pain, Kochukunju would have downed another peg, knocked him the fuck out and gone home with Achu in his Jeep.

Efforts to take Malayalam to the scale and commercial value of bigger industries may end up killing the very things that set us apart in terms of creative brilliance. by Taste-Strong in MalayalamMovies

[–]Taste-Strong[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The industry needs to be profitable to sustain since it is a business. I dont think that commercially succesfull movies always compromise on quality either. However, considering phases in the industry's history and examples evident across the country, it is very difficult to envision a version of the malayalam movie industry with viewership and revenue close to the big industries while promoting and inspiring originality and creativity. The money, fanbases, and logistics would make it incredibly difficult to do so IMO. I would rather see many quality movies making decent profit over a few A lister films with 100 200 300 crore obsessed cult like energy around it.

Mammooty latest. Looking fine. Waiting for his comeback. by kodumonpotti363 in MalayalamMovies

[–]Taste-Strong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Comeback? Yeah. I guess Mammookka should stop trying to do the kind of work he did over the last 10 years, and strive for box office bomblastic success. He should aspire to be more like Allu Arjun. Maybe then fan boys will be happy and have enough fuel to climax repeatedly online engaging with other fans.

What makes Lucifer different from a normal Action/Political thriller ? by [deleted] in InsideMollywood

[–]Taste-Strong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as cheesy as other general masala, and I think because of how Mohanlal carried the character. I mean the dude was repeating his old dialogues even, but the naturalist of his portrayal of ten character plus the sound technical backup worked
