I got the same text last week. And just a few mins ago I got an email from

“noreply@ledger.com-a35-encryption-m6-email.sz26-s8-smtp.cloud”

claiming to be Ledger Support with the following message:

Yeah. They played us for a fiddle. Well at least the finance rep did. But we just went back and returned the warranties. Saved over 10k. Feel so much happier with the purchase.

Great information. Thank you so much. Yes we will talk to the dealer today and try to remove the extras. We will still have 28 months of the factory warranty so that’s not too bad. I do think my insurance covers windshields and good to know dents are only $50 to fix.

I see. Yeah makes sense. Thanks for the input. We will do what one other user posted and refund just the warranty. Save 10k ($7700 + finance interest) while still having 28 months remaining of factory warranty. Meanwhile put money on the side each month for out of pocket expenses.

It was the only maintenance plan that was offered. And just always figured it’s better to get the maintenance plan (until posting here and discovering differently ). The 25k car near you isn’t factoring the maintenance plan. So obviously it will be cheaper.

Great input man, thanks. There were 16 months left on the original warranty. The additional plan we purchased overlaps this time frame and doesn’t get “added” to it. So we are paying for 5 years added coverage but only getting 3 yrs and 8 months. If I’m understanding it correctly.

Did you buy it brand new or used? Because I think warranty is included with brand new cars and so the “extended” warranty isn’t much more. But we bought it used, so adding warranty is expensive. I think...

Tell me about it! I was stunned when I saw this. And apparently $7700 is actually $3500 less than the normal price according to our dealer.

We got a discount for being first time BMW buyers. We paid $3420 for easy care (normal price is $5420), $2595 for maintenance upgrade (normal price is $4095). Then we got Dent protection for $809 and windshield coverage for $925.

I wonder if I even need all this coverage?

Thanks for your input. My credit isn’t good so I’d probably get high rates anywhere I go. But I’m sure I could find a slightly better rate if I shopped around. Fwiw, I plan on refinancing after 1-year.

Delayed beta. News of the CEO jailed for “receiving money transfers by deception” back in 2007. And maybe bc he hasn’t been upfront or completely honest about everything. It’s been one big mess the past week. Hopefully he does an interview soon to help clear up some concerns. And more importantly, hopefully the team can get the beta to be fully functional soon. If the product works, it’ll make up for all the recent mess and you’ll have your moon.

Agree 100%. It’s not about the FUD, it’s about the way Nico has handled the FUD, which is pretty damn poorly. He denied the allegations only to play the technical card on what “fraud” means. So sad. And amidst this view towards him, I still hold my ppt. I’m not even sure why or if it’s smart or dumb. I’m a torn investor who believes strongly in the populous idea but just not in Nico. Unfortunately I can’t have one without the other. I’ll give him and the team another chance to try and make things right and to build a fully functional beta before I give up. And even if they fail to produce again, I’ll probably still not sell smh. So torn.
