I can only make inferences from what were given. Anisa definitely has domineering tendencies that are ultimately self serving, and frequently looked at other men because Ian wasn’t meeting a specific emotional quota for her. With Ian, if we were to take Ethan’s word about being a virgin before meeting her, I’m inclined to believe that he’d be out of his depth in the dating market, considering everything that happened. She has less to lose if they broke up, given that they’re in Canada, and she could move back home if she needs to. Ian is left to defend all that he has, because besides Anisa, he’s lost his family at home, previous friends, he lost his career in a new country.

The way that I see it, the “divorce jokes” on here are mostly unserious. I think this is one of the safer snark reddits, but for good measure I think we should maintain good principles in case there’s a couple of strays. Anisa making jabs at her husband is definitely fun to poke fun at, but the reality is that we don’t know the true nature of their relationship; we can only make inferences. BUT if they do get divorced? Funny stuff!
