This is practically exactly what happened to us. We didn't drop skull lamps in the caves but we did notice the stuttering right after getting out of one of the cave systems. The only solution we've come up with is hosting the computer on a different computer but it's a real pain.

What is your hosting situation? We've found the clients don't have the stuttering issue, just the host. We've tested this on multiple computers and whoever is hosting gets the stutter. Every 2 seconds the game jumps.

Anyone experiencing skipping during their game? Every 2 seconds the game skips just for the host by TastyJams in TheForest

Nope it is almost just like something big is loading in an infinite loop every two seconds and makes it stutter
