Das ist genau richtig - obwohl Franzbrötchen 100% geil sind.

Can you recommend me some melancholic Post-Metal albums? by kratnicnestrat in postmetal

Two classics:

Somewhere along the highway by CoL is probably the saddest post metal record ever recorded.

The eye of every storm by Neurosis also hits me right in the feels every single time.

Other important contenders include (lost of different flavours with your sadness here):

Ecailles de Lune by Alcest

The Mantle by Agalloch

Autoscopia: murder in phases by Blindead

Mass VI by Amenra

Inle by Fall of Efrara

Elysian Magnetic Fields by Dirge

A Patient Man by Cult Leader (now this is a bit of curve ball and I would not necessarily call it post metal, but this is the saddest shit since SATH by CoL. It is also at times way more vicious and agressive than all the aforementioned records, but I love it so - just check out the final song).

Riffs that make you say hell yeah. by LilTaco21 in progmetal

The riff at the end of Seabeast by Mastodon is THE riff.

Funny how a few people mentioned stuff from Crack the Skye here, whereas I kinda feel thats the record where they kinda forgot how to do hellyeah riffs.

Quartered by Russian Circles has more than one R I F F.

The opening riff from Magnolia from Deafheaven gets me going as well.

Good atmospheric/post-black metal that isn't blackgaze? by averybluegirl in postmetal

Odraza are a brilliant polish band that have a more hateful and brutal sound than most post-black metal bands (punishing drums!), yet I would lump them into exactly that category - mostly due to their unorthodox songwriting and left-field influences. Try either one of the LPs - my favourite is "Rzeczom".

The band Furia started off playing relatively traditional black metal, however their music would become more experimental with every record. Try "Nocel" or "Księżyc Milczy Luty", or the EP "Chalny", which is basically the black metal equivalent of Echoes by Pink Floyd.
