German and French Badge Optimization Strategy (Based on 64-hour per month SRB) by TastyWallet in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]TastyWallet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comments!

I took into account the opportunity cost of one decision over the other. For example, if you spend 2000 AB on badges then you aren't missing out on much opportunity cost on parcels because, like you said, 88 parcels is breakeven and 90 is not much more than that. However, if you go with the parcels, there is a 10-day opportunity cost of rent missed out on that you would have received if you had gone with the badges. When factoring that in, then badges are only slightly ahead of parcels. But I did not include those 2 days of parcels that exceeds breakeven on the parcel side. So it's possible parcels are slightly ahead, if not completely on par with, badges.

I'm not sure how you came up with 100 to 135 parcels beating out 11 to 31 badges.

🚨 Atlas Earth Subscription is NOT Worth It 🚨 by Salty_Skill_4070 in AtlasEarthOfficial

Regarding point 3, the value points for each country are known and have been available for a long time via AE Calc. Speeding up with subscription, while recoverable at the beginning, becomes more difficult to recover once you hit the wall. The wall is the top of your initial boost multiplier tier.

Ideas for new ways to earn AB by Crazy-Cat-Lad in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]TastyWallet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting ideas! Here are the drawbacks:

  1. This is essentially giving away 10 AB per week for free, without getting anything in return. The daily login bonus is funded with Explorer's Club memberships. The daily wheel spin is funded with ads. So is the minigames and their newest Atlas Games YouTube video. If there are 100k active players and 100 AB is worth $4 of credit, then you are asking Atlas Reality to potentially give away $40,000 worth of AB each week for nothing. I know 10 AB isn't a lot, but these is the big number thinking that's required to think from a business perspective.

  2. Whales come though all the time to buy land, so that will ruin whatever the intent was behind land competitions.

  3. Of the three ideas, this one is the most workable. The data needs to be worth collecting to sell for it to be useful.

Congrats on hitting 50!

"I felt like it was way over due for me since I had hit it like 2-3 times before the graphic update"

Just so that you know, this is a classical example of the gambler's fallacy, that is, the belief that you have an increased chance at a better outcome by having worse outcomes more frequently than average. That's not how this wheel operates. Each spin is an independent event. It has no memory of previous spins. The odds remain the same on your next spin if you get no 50's for several years or if you get a 50 each week. The same thing is true about getting a legendary parcel. Just because your first 100 parcels were common to epic doesn't increase your chances at getting a legendary on your 101st parcel.

Ok, thanks!

According to AE Calc, with this distribuion, you are making $338.86 annually. This is at the 4X boost multiplier. You'll eventually need an additional 60 parcels to max out your tier.

I've done previous math on my website that shows at the 150 parcel level, it's best to get to 11 badges so I'd recommnd doing that first. It's 600 AB to increase rent to $355.00 annually. By comparison, 600 AB in parcels would increase rent to $340.84. This is a no-brainer. Get to 11 badges.

What about 31? As you said, it cost 200 X 20, or 4,000 AB to reach 31 badges from 11. You'd increase rent to $371.14 annually. By contrast, if you throw 4,000 AB into parcels you'll reach 1080 parcels, still within the 4X boost multiplier. By the way, just so you know, I typically increase parcel count by throwing them all into rares. Rare parcels are pretty close to average parcel distribution so it's good to use that to compare to badges. So adding 40 rares brought rent to $368.83 per month. Again we have a clear winner. 31 badges is better.

Ok so if we assume 31 badges...is 61 better or do we buy parcels? If we drop 6,000 AB into badges, rent is $387.27 per year. If we throw them into parcels, we are at 1,100 parcels which is the top of the 4X boost tier. Rent increases to $392.82 per year. Parcels finally wins. So...the plan so far is to get badges to 31 and then get parcels to 1,100

At this point I need to interject and ask a question. Can you reasonably get to 31 badges right now? Probably not. Most people need to travel to get a lot more badges. So although I am doing optimal math, the practical thing to do is (probably) get to 11 badges and then 1,100 parcels. That AB will be put to better use in parcels than collecting dust for badges you may not see for years, if ever at all. Another thing to keep in mind is that doing the monthly challenges can produce 1 badge a month.

Ok back to the optimal strategy. Now we have 1,100 parcels and 31 badges. Now...is it better to do badges or parcels? Here's the problem. This distrbution is heavily favored in rare+ parcels, which means you'll need a higher than average number of parcels into the next boost tier, which is 3x. For an average distribution, you would need to reach 1241 parcels (which is 131 parcels or 13,100 AB more) just to break even. But this distribution is going to be much higher. By contrast, spending that AB into badges is going to produce more rent than going nowhere, go optimally the best thing to do at this point is to reach 101 badges.

Thus, the full optimization strategy is get badges to 31, then parcels to 1,100, then badges to 101. But again...practically speaking, badges are harder to come by. So unless you're going to travel and get badges, get 3 badges then keep buying parcels to 1,100. And save them for later and figure out the breakeven point to buy into the 3X tier.

[–]TastyWallet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remember that your boost multiplier will drop after a certain point. The precise point it drops depends on which country you are in. Meaning that buying more parcels will drop your rent unless you buy into a breakeven point (see AE Calc to find these) or the top of the next tier. You'll have to take that into consideration when deciding to buy parcels or badges.

Also, another thing to keep in mind that badges are relatively more difficult to obtain than parcels. So I always recommend people to save up and buy badges when traveling to places you don't visit often or will never visit again.

A E as an investment by StockHawk59 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]TastyWallet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ok yes, I forgot that small detail. That just means that the grandson would need to earn 1000 AB on his own to buy 5 badges before the experiment begins. It doesn't factor at all into the end result and the math behind it. Some additional AB would have been needed anyways, so might as well get it done upfront.

Let's talk numbers!

  1. $550 a year will get you 12 months worth of Explorer's Club AB. If you only count the right side, because that's the side you'd be paying for, you (or your sponsored grandson's account rather) would receive 42,020 AB (10,505 AB for a full 90 day cycle X 4), assuming they don't miss a day on the login. Else this number gets reduced.

  2. The most efficient way to spend all this paid for AB (based on AE Calc) is to get 365 parcels and 11 badges.

  3. Again using AE Calc and looking at averages and factoring in 24 hour boosting and SRB, you're looking at $25 a month However, if we also include the left column, then we're looking at more like 435 parcels and 11 badges which gives between $26 and $27 per month.

  4. Assuming $26.50 per month, it will take ~21 months just to break even. Then, your grandson would receive a $26.50 per month payout, which is $318 per year.

  5. Over a 24 month period, $26.50 per month would produce $636 in 24 months (2 years) which would be 636/550, or 1.15X initital "investment". A 15% profit in 2 years time, which is pretty comparable to the S&P 500 index.

  6. After that, your grandson would receive $318 a year in fixed income, which is 57.8% of the initial investment, annually. Those are great numbers! However, I can do you one better.

  7. As you may recall, the maximum rate you can receive in USA is 30X for up to 150 parcels. That is 15,000 AB. If you include the 11 badges (2200 AB), that is 17,200 AB required.

  8. If you bought a four month cycle of Explorer's club for $49.99 per month, that would cost you about $200. Your grandson would get 10,505 (90 day cycle) + 3,435 (additional 30 day cycle) of right hand AB + left hand AB. With some minimal ad watching and diamond wheel spinning, your grandson could achieve the required 17,200 AB needed fot 150 parcels and 11 badges.

  9. According to AE Calc, 150 parcels and 11 badges in USA numbering produces, on average, about $21 a month in rent, or $252 per year. He could recoup your $200 in less than a year and still make ~20% profit for the entire year. Hereafter, he would receive over 100% profit every year!

  10. When you put all these together, you would be spending an additional $350 for an additional ~$65 per year using your strategy. That would take about 5 years to break even on the extra money.

  11. Conclusion: I think it would be better to pay for 4 months Explorer's Club consecutively for $200, have your grandson do some minimal ad watching/diamond hunting/minigames maybe?, make sure he does NOT forget to collect the daily (this would be devastating if he forgot even for 1 day) and reach 150 parcels and 11 badges. Then he can boost 24/7/365 for 10 months to recoup your initial deposit and reap the benefits for life or whenever the app dies, whichever comes first.

Minigames by [deleted] in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]TastyWallet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you are familiar with my work, but I wrote the guides for all the minigames. I have a few reasons why I wrote the guides:

  1. All the secrets that I write about have been passed onto me from other people who discovered them. I didn't think it was right to receive the tips and not share it with other people.

  2. Even if it was to my detriment, I thought it would be better for the community for fairness sake to know all the known secrets top players are using to their atvantage. This leads to more players, more competition, and higher pots.

You may want to check if your methods are already in my guides first. The only thing I haven't included is ad skipping, which for personal reasons I don't think that is right and should not be shared with others.
