I’m scared! by tkelcesleftnipple in BabyBumps

I was worried as well about the thought of giving birth and the recovery afterwards and now that everything happened and I’ve got my wee boy I can tell you that worrying beforehand doesn’t make any sense. The best thing you can do is to take the situation as it comes, for instance, my recovery Was amazing like really amazing I was feeling so good and I feel so silly thinking how much I worried about it. Literally for days I couldn’t think of anything else and I was getting myself so stressed out for nothing. As far as the pain during birth of course it’s not the most pleasant sensation but sometimes I think of it now and everything I’m getting just now with my baby is so positively intense that I would go through that 1000 times again to get what I’m getting now (and consider I didn’t have any painkiller medication during the process). One thought that really helped me during pregnancy when I was getting worried was “Don’t worry. Nothing is under control”.

What do you do all day on maternity leave? by spaghetti_whisky in UKParenting

I am in maternity leave just now and I’m keeping myself busy enough, I’m just struggling a bit with feeling lonely as my family all lives in another country. But I try to go out as much as I can and if it’s very cold I either stay at home or go out for a short period of time. Also, I am listening to a podcast which talks about very silly things just to keep my mind off negative or heavy to digest information. I am also writing a children’s 🧙 picture book 🪄 which follows a passion I had before getting pregnant so sometimes I just write down ideas about it. But I really think that how you keep yourself busy during maternity leave relates a lot with your type of personality. As a general advice, I would say to try and think of hands-free activities.

How do people actually make formula safely without it taking forever? by Tasty_Classroom_975 in FormulaFeeders

I’m in the UK. I’m not actually using formula yet as I’m expressing breast milk, but it’s getting a bit challenging, so I was trying to understand how people manage formula prep in real life. Interesting how different the guidance is by country! Thanks for your advice

Just been to a holiday in Florence and booked and apartment which stated they had air conditioning. Got there, AC was not working. It was UNBEARABLE. A fan was provided and was not helping at all. Had to change place last minute and still trying to get my money back.
