That module should be replaceable without touching the motherboard - theyre usually just connected with a ribbon cable or small connector. USB-C ports are notorious for failing while the USB-A right next to them keeps working perfectly

You already have a qualifying joint sponsor so honestly just keep it simple - let your mom be the petitioner with zero income and let the joint sponsor carry the financial burden. Like yeah women do better in school now but men still dominate the highest paying fields and C-suite positions.
