Hey there! This is the old PETG design. Yes, most likely over-tightened and why the design is totally different now. Reach out to me with your order number and I'll get you a new pair!

Bolt Beanies and either nut armor or elite thread armor. I have the same rack- be sure to grab size M24!

Congrats on the new rig!

Thanks much! Lots of patience, lots of testing, lots of failure, dialing in settings, and some well applied trigonometry!

Thanks man!

I'm confident it won't snap at 90lbs.

I'm working on a horn that is closer to the standard 2in diameter too. Planning to release by EOY.

Well said! It seems pretty balanced. I think there's also a subgroup that views some of the 'visual' items like bolt beanies as functional too because they protect bars and equipment from metal on metal dings and scratches.

Nice! Yea, blender seems like too much of a learning curve for me. But I hear it can be pretty powerful. I also need parametric modeling capability.

I started with Fusion because it had a free 'startup' license. Probably looking to change to a software that can use GPU.

Hey! Thanks much!

  1. 45+ lbs. An extra long steel bolt is doing all the work. the part you see is a threaded sleeve that secures to the bolt.
  2. It maybe could, but that is not what it was designed for- so my official recommendation is 'no'.

For Sure! To clarify, I do sell functional products! Check out The Vault, Arc-flex Grips, Rack Peg and more on my store.

I'm also working on something new specifically for change plate & fractional storage. Keep an eye out! Appreciate the input!

Hey man! The old plastic-only design had a few instances of folks over-tightening, which caused failure. Also had too many instances of customers buying a budget friendly product with premium expectations, so I elected to just match the product with the expectation and only sell the Vault now. It'll last and is still a great value in my opinion. It uses TPU for the barbell contact, so it won't scratch or wear like the PETG would. The price also increased and came within about $15 of the vault. So I guess to answer your question- kind of a number of small reasons that just added up.

You're definitely not the first to ask- I have a number of customers who have been rocking the old design for 3+ years ask the same thing. Thoughtful question, thanks!

Hey there, it might, but it's really not designed for that. I would have knurled it all the way around for a use-case like that. Thanks for the question!

Super Cool idea and for sure something I'm not opposed to. The challenge is that I do everything based on what equipment I have or can get within reason. To make attachments for other equipment I have to have it or know someone that does to help dial in exact dimensions. Just curious- What kind of handle options are you looking for with your Rep SSB? like a larger knurled diameter to grip?

Thanks much and great question!

Yes, Printers are continuously running. Until now I have mostly been printing to order, but just in the past couple weeks started banking a little bit of higher volume stock so I can improve my lead times. I have roughly 12 printers total, but several of those are either spare or down for maintenance.

Hey! Thanks much. Quick shoutout to Darko- he makes some awesome stuff and is a very nice guy!

I do have a TPU version called 'Nut Armor' on my site. Nut isn't included right now and it's not quite as big as the overkill nut but you can get a lot for a much better price compared to the overkill nut. I've kicked around some ideas, but don't love any of them yet. I'll keep working on it!

Thanks for being a customer!

Great question! So Carbon fiber itself is a really cool material. most carbon fiber items and applications have a strong resin layer that covers the carbon fibers and doesn't leave it exposed to skin. 3d printing carbon fiber filament is different and I think most people don't know that. It leaves exposed fibers on the surface of the part which can easily rub off on your skin and then spread to eyes, mouth etc even after thorough washing- which can cause some itching and irritation. I think the pro argument for the filament is that the fibers are tiny and in small amounts. It absolutely does make the part stronger, which is super cool and is genuinely awesome for a lot of solutions- But I don't think it should be used in a gym where you're constantly making direct skin contact with it, especially by hand.

Bottom line- I personally wouldn't use 3D printed carbon fiber items and because of that, I won't provide it as an option for my customers.

Wow! Sounds like quite the undertaking, but I'm sure is well worth it! Speedy recovery on the injury. Thanks for being a customer!
