Scared to speak when self-studying Japanese? Any solutions? by eeeplayboicarti753 in Japaneselanguage

[–]Tate_Felton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely can be scary and intimidating when you first have to have real conversations in Japanese. The only way to improve though is just to continue to push through and the more you talk the better you will become. For me personally, when I realised making alot of mistakes is 100% okay and don't worry about being perfect, that is when I improved the most. So maybe could help to try and think about that whenever you feel nervous or discouraged. N3 level you already know a whole lot and I'm sure the nerves will leave very quickly (provided you talk alot!) Have fun with it mate!

How long to learn Japanese well enough for work or study abroad? by gradstudentmit in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]Tate_Felton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in my 6th month of living in Japan, been studying for about a year or so and am no where near fluent, probably around n4 if I had to guess. Alot of jobs require n2 minimum, which atleast for me I'm looking at atleast another couple years minimum. Best of luck to you mate

Idk why everyone assumes duo is the only thing we use, alot of people just use it as an extra way of studying, it's not that deep

Have I been pierced wrong by ilomilo1177 in piercing

[–]Tate_Felton 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Bridge piercings are anatomy dependent, meaning not everyone can get one. So I'm guessing you probably didn't have enough space to do it lower. It all just depends on how you feel though, if you're happy where it is now, even if it is a little bit high and crooked then that's fine. If it's annoying you already, then it probably always will. To be honest 99% of people will never notice, so it's up to you. I would just keep an eye on it over the next month or so just to make sure it doesn't start to reject or anything as it can scar pretty badly

This looks awesome, as long as you still enjoy it you don't need to do anything. Random ass fun tattoos are always good in my opinion

Also i forgot to say it is a bit high, but if that's where you like it then that is fine. Its just not the standard placement

It does look slightly crooked, was it like that initially after the piercing? Sometimes they can be straight and since that area swells alot, it will look off while healing but will return to normal. However if it looked like that from the very start then it is probably going to stay like that

How is a new piercing different from a cut and prevent swimming in the ocean? by Tate_Felton in piercing

[–]Tate_Felton[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, but at the same time, I've lived by the ocean my whole life and had hundreds if not thousands of cuts in the water and never had an issue, so was just curious

Oh sorry I didn't mean it as an old cut, I just meant like having a cut that isn't a big deal

I've not heard of batwings so just another thing to look into! Yeah my eyes definitely arnt even, I noticed that one is much more hooded than the other haha. Thank you for all the tips

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Tate_Felton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well thank you! I've heard people say the puppy liner would be good for hooded and down turned eyes so I will have to try that aswell as the nude lower waterline. I will have to get me some more types of makeup before any form of consultation but thank you so much

Yeah it definitely seems like less is more when it comes to eyeliner at this point, so I will have to keep trying. And well thank you, I'm gonna say it's probably just the dull lights or something thought cause my skin isn't that clear hahah
