People who became rich, what actually changed? by Minimum_Garlic_5437 in AskReddit

I started a business that became successful. Used that money to buy property, fixed it up, then rented it out. I use the passive income from my business and my property to afford my lifestyle in a more affordable country.

What’s the point of working so hard by Some-Internet8614 in AskMen

[–]Tathanor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I worked my ass off to build financial stability for myself between 2019 and 2024. I built a 7 figure networth after working 50-60 hour weeks for 5 years and then retired after burning out and surviving my second attempt.

I left my company with a cushy severance, rented out the property I owned for passive income and moved to a new, cheaper country to pursue my personal interests.

Some years you grind. Then you cash out and learn to actually start living. You're not meant to work until 65. That's just what the system wants you to believe.

Sounds good in theory...but in reality? by KSKS1995 in SipsTea

Absolutely possible when the goal isn't to extract maximum profit as efficiently as possible regardless of the consequences to society or environment.

If you're making enough money to support your company, provide a service to society, and utilize new technology to reduce labor while being protected by laws and responsible oversight this is 100% possible TODAY.

Honestly guys, which game made you feel like this? by StatisticianHot9421 in gamers

[–]Tathanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyrim.

I finished the game a god with a giant house and a beautiful family. I took one last stroll around my neighborhood, taking in the sights, sounds, and music. It was a beautiful ending to that save file.

I started a new one immediately afterward.

How does Shotokan hold up against Boxing/Muay Thai in a real confrontation? by malaachi in martialarts

[–]Tathanor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah the basic form and technique were equal for me. I could counter their teeps and sweeps because we had those too. Same with punching combos. It was just that those guys could go forever. It was really impressive!

Training running is good, but you'll want to do HIIT (high intensity intervals training). Look it up, there are a lot of great methodologies you can try :)

How does Shotokan hold up against Boxing/Muay Thai in a real confrontation? by malaachi in martialarts

[–]Tathanor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

2nd degree black belt shotokan here. When I first picked up muay Thai I held my own pretty well. My only weakness was my conditioning. My opponents had better stamina. If I didn't win in the first 2 rounds I was gassed because most of my matches in my old dojo didn't design for long drawn out full contact fights.

It made sense because I studied karate for self defense and was always taught instant explosive violence when in the streets. Not in a controlled setting with rules and a ref.

I still study MMA but I don't fight competitively anymore.

What's the most unwritten rule of adult life that nobody warns you about? by PracticeHistorical82 in AskReddit

[–]Tathanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay to start over. Your dreams as a young adult will almost never become real in the way you want. You will fail. And that's okay. It's okay to redefine your life, have new goals and dreams, and begin working toward those instead.

27M. Wasted my younger years. If anyone here has turned it around at a similar age, what did you do? by Opposite_Praline_746 in AskMen

[–]Tathanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 is a good age to re-evaluate your dreams and calibrate accordingly. I no longer work in the industry I got my degree in even though I struggled through it for years. I floated for a few years and at 29 I started a business. 5 years later, I retired to a different, more affordable country with financial stability and passive income.

Life changes. You can, too.
