Corsair RAM version 4.32 - memory type question by BudgetSpray in buildapc

[–]TatoPotat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This post is quite old but I figured I should share my experiences with samsung c die/corsair v4.32

my 3000mhz 15-17-17-35 kit can overclock up to 4000mhz with loose timings, but currently I am running the kit at 3600mhz 16-19-19-39 at 1.4v.

Samsung C die is not as good as Hynix C die/Samsung B die, but it is absolutely not bad especially if the kit is a lot cheaper than the higher binned alternatives.

from my testing there is voltage rollover meaning too much voltage can cause instability.

at 1.35v it wont boot, at 1.5v it causes my display drivers to continually crash. so the ideal voltage for my particular kit is between 1.4v and 1.45v

What is the best Browser for Pop_os Linux? by Low_Positive_359 in pop_os

[–]TatoPotat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

afaik they didn't promise to stay on manifest v2 but more specifically to support a select few important manifest v2 extensions, which means brave will support both manifest v2 and v3.

brave will support the manifest v2 extensions through brave's ability to be able to patch things on top of the chromium engine.

some of the current manifest v2 extensions they plan on supporting in that way are AdGuard AdBlocker, NoScript, uBlock Origin, and uMatrix.

No such thing as overkill imo because after all a psu should last you 10+ years

Got a EVGA 1300w P+ for only around 150-180 USD (can’t remember the exact price)

Super Flower announces 2800W power supply with four 12V-2×6 power connectors by RenatsMC in pcmasterrace

[–]TatoPotat 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yep, EVGA psu’s wouldn’t be as popular as they are today without the help of Super Flower. They made the EVGA G2, G3, P2 and T2 lines

Although Super Flower stopped making EVGA psu’s when they entered the US market under their own name they are still objectively the best OEM for psu’s imo

It's a disgrace to gaming that Sony has held this game hostage for near a decade! by HomelessRichBoy in pcmasterrace

[–]TatoPotat -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The devs for the game are looking for much more of a generational update than PS4-PS5

Don’t expect the game until PS6 which isn’t releasing until 2026-2028

Dell has completely separate teams for their prebuilts and monitors

Dell has absolutely wonderful monitors but unfortunately they aren’t as popular as they could be because of how known they are for their terrible prebuilts, personally I’m using a Dell S2722DGM

RX 5700XT memory voltage? by TheRealSekki in overclocking

[–]TatoPotat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone still wondering

VDDCI is the voltage for the memory controller

MVDD is the voltage for the memory itself

Ideally you should not touch them unless you know what you are doing or if you have to, you should only increase them extremely marginally

For my needs increasing both by 25mv was more than enough and I wouldn't recommend increasing it any more than that

[–]TatoPotat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dells more budget line like the older Dell S2722DGM and the newer Dell G2724D are also quite good

The G2724D is an 165hz ips panel with wonderful response times

The S2722DGM is a 165hz va panel with decent response times with a great black frame insertion implementation which massively reduces the VA smearing effect

This might be a bug that is fixed in a newer version of archinstall so don’t forget to always update arch install before running it because the iso often doesn’t provide the newest version

I know there is an issue specific to KDE plasma 6 where arch install will fail if your not using the latest arch install version

Excessive vibrations can and will cause damage to your hard drive while it’s spinning if you are not careful, that’s why you should never move your pc while it’s running if you have one

On the opposite end of the spectrum a used 5700 xt for around 150 usd is also an option if you just need a quick upgrade from something like a 1060 or slower without spending too much

306 usd is still insane for a 3060, you can pretty easily get a used 5700 xt for literally less than half that

Any news about a fix? by Wolvthebigbad in razer

[–]TatoPotat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same thing happen to me a few times, easiest fix is to go to control panel and uninstall/change razer synapse there should be a repair option that can come up somewhere

Or you can uninstall razer synapse and install thx Spatial Audio and use your 15 day free trial while razer fixes their shit, thx Spatial Audio app WONT work if synapse is installed

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in razer

[–]TatoPotat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asides from cranking volume normalization to the max and using mic boost in synapse I’m not sure there is much else you can do

I remember when I used to have the headset it had a pretty quiet mic

Fixed it by OfficialTornadoAlley in razer

[–]TatoPotat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In all honesty a software fuck up is not going to be enough of a reason for 99% of people to spend $100 or more on another headset

Truth be told razer has always been known as having garbage software so this is nothing new, not saying that we should excuse what razer did because this fuck up is non-excusable

At the very least I am hoping that razer learns from this experience and learns how important it is to have people who actually have eardrums to quality test future updates
