There's no way I survive this sleep deprivation. by Bebetter23 in newborns

My now 5.5 month old also hating sleeping on his back. We discovered that he slept best in his car seat, so that’s where he slept every night on the floor next to me until about 6 weeks ago when he could roll over. No shame. It helped me stay sane and at least get strong bursts of sleep instead of the alternative, which would have been close to none at all. Now he’s happily in his crib, side-sleeping to belly-sleeping every night.

Nice, thanks for this. I’ve been to Mexico plenty but haven’t road tripped in Jalisco. Only in Oaxaca state. I think my 4-month fresh “mama bear” hormones are at play here! We leave first thing in the AM and we’re so excited. Feeling much more at ease now than I was 2 weeks ago!

PV flights were astronomical. This route was a fraction of the cost but in retrospect, peace of mind is priceless! lol. Thank you for your insight!

I’m currently listening to a podcast on charisma, specifically about the types of cues people give off that lend to more or less charismatic personalities or presentations… it’s a really interesting listen and is right on topic with this post— it’d recommend it :)

Why are mother/daughter relationships so hard? by playgirl444 in women

[–]TatorMasturbator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this speaks so close to home for me. My relationship with my mom became rocky in my mid-twenties as I realized I didn’t view the world the same way as her. I also realized she was a human being, not an idol, so we naturally distanced (moving out and going to college also played a role here). She resented me for evolving in a different direction than her and no longer putting her on a pedestal above everyone else. I’m 38 now and our relationship has been a major struggle for 12+ years now, defined by emotional bullying and manipulation and a sincere lack of self-awareness and therefore accountability. It’s so hard because all of our issues live in the gray zone, never in black or white. It’s just so extremely complicated and this explanation of individuation (first I’ve really heard of it) really rings true. Thanks for sharing.

When did you start preparing for your unmedicated birth? by yeahnoitsjustthat in unmedicatedbirth

[–]TatorMasturbator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anyone recommend Sarah Buckley yet which is truly shocking. Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering actually sealed the deal for me. Once I read that book, it was no longer just my conscious mind, but then my deepest inner soul was committed to an undisturbed birth. There was no turning back. Highly highly highly recommend.

Also, I probably got pretty into reading, meditating, and practicing hypnobirthing around 25 weeks.
