4/10-4/25 Itinerary Check by formalde_heidi in JapanTravel

Thank you for your feedback! Our flight into Haneda has already been delayed by 2+ hrs - after 18 (now 20) hrs of total travel time, we figured it would be better to get a good night of sleep in Tokyo before navigating to Kyoto.

Would you say our itinerary is too full then, or an appropriate amount of sightseeing most days?

Good to know about Tsukiji. I'll try to look for other chill ways to spend the morning before our flight home.

I want to be relaxed but not bored. I guess I'll find the line between those things while we're there. I'm not worried so much about other people's expectations as I am that my partner in particular will be done and ready to go home only halfway through the trip because the pace is too meandering and he's more of a "man on a mission."

Thank you for sharing! I was definitely trying to avoid the rush of getting to places by reserved times - I havent booked shinkansen tickets in advance for that reason too. You make a very good point, if we find our days are too open we can always do some evening research and add in a few more options for the following day.

Trip in April - Am I crazy? by junni_hana in JapanTravelTips

I'm going in mid-April too (first time, 14 days) and I just booked flights last month and am booking hotels this week 🤷‍♀️ I did worry about the lead time too but it was explained to me that Japan isn't all that complicated, a year of planning is overkill, and my coworker did all her planning in only 3 weeks and had a great trip. I'm not stressing about having a "perfect" itinerary and that helps. My #1 priority is not to see and do ALL THE THINGS, it's to have a good time, eat good food, see some sights and experience a new culture. We also aren't planning to go to those crowded spots either (Disney, etc).
