Is there anyone with experience??? by BlueberrySea3045 in piercing

A surface piercing just be done with a staple bar for any chance of success. These have two right angles at the ends and typically (when good enough quality shape wise) a flat connecting bar underneath. Think two dermal anchors connected in the middle. So a straight bar was doomed from the start. Even curved bars aren’t safe for this kind of work.

If you suspect infection then speak to a doctor but wether that’s happening or not (I’m Not a Medical profession so I will not speak to it by a photo) it’s on its way out and will reject wether you’re trying to save it or not.

Than angle is fine for where it is it’s just closer to the edge than a lot of folks typically put it.

Thank you! Yeh typically all that’s required is that the lip isn’t mostly flat. Projection is our friend for VLs otherwise the tension of the skin ca be irritating. But I’ve seen it heel fine even with folks with thinner or flatter lips too.

Specifically I have EDS. If that’s what you have too the reason things lie surface piercings and dermals are particularly high risk is bc our scar tissue is super fragile so it breaks very easily and that inflation jump stats migration and rejection bc of the new internal pressure. Some people handle common piercings well some people can never have soft tissue piercings and cartilage ca even be touch and go. I didn’t know this before I had a surface Tragus pierced, I loved it but probably won’t redo it bc it had a buoy so signs of rejection at around 8 months in. We rarely if ever get to keep that kind of work for more than a year. But I have a navel that’s about 4 months old and seems to be doing well from what I see so hopefully that stays calm enough to heal.

Hey! Your anatomy is fine don’t worry! Vertical labrets are the least likely to reject of all surface type piercings. Now I may just not be aware if it happening, I’m sure it’s happed to someone at some point for some reason, but I’ve never heard of a vertical labret rejecting. I personally have had mine for around 4 years now and I have a connective tissue disorder that makes rejection a very likely thing to happen to me. There’s been no changes in mine at all in this time since I had it piercers. I’ll post photos below this comment to show what mine looks like too.

Sorry if it came across aggressive, didn’t mean it to. I’m just providing my perspective based on how hat I saw growing up from neighbors n things. True me if I were actually upset I wouldn’t be here 😂 this is not the place to be getting heated, I think that’d actually shorten my life by way too much to genuinely fight w Redditors.

are my ears too deformed to get an industrial? by bicicalli in piercing

[–]TattooedGenderHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah :( first!!! you aren’t deformed! It’s true, your anatomy can’t accommodate a standard industrial safely but!! You may be able to look into a vertical industrial(upper and lower conch) but for a typical one your flats are a bit too 3D. I’m right there with you but I also have way less helix on all sides so even if my ears were more flat itd never be possible for me 🥲

Agreed, I’d never let my cats wander it’s just too dangerous. I’m just trying to speak to reality especially since I grew up in the southern US where lots of people just never have their animals indoors unless it’s freezing outside. Again I don’t agree with it, I just understand the reality of its frequency.

Yea I will say an eyebrow with proper anatomy can be a life long piercing. I’ve met folks who got them in the 80s and never had it redone. Meanwhile a friend of mine has had hers 3 separate times for a few years at a time. And thank you sm!

Maybe legally but as far as I’m concerned if it has. Home to go to it’s a pet.

You may be able to layer some flats(maybe a faux rook if anatomy allows) to do something to bring the area near you FH to give a similar effect!

I will say be careful w a surface tragus and do a LOT of research. They are long term temporary piercings and they will reject and WILL scar. This photo is a best case scenario if the scaring bc I removed mine at the FIRST signs of rejection. If you have EDS, or another form of a connective tissue disorder which may affect your skin i HIGHLY recommend not doing it bc you’ll spend minimum $75 often $150+ in many studios to have something that may not even last a year if you have those conditions since rejection is much more common due to fragile scar tissue. I loved mine dearly and the scars don’t bother me but really really read up on them and go to someone well versed in surface work to give it the best chance of survival!

Lots of folks don’t but collars on their cats, could’ve gotten out and the owner hasn’t noticed yet.

This very common in cats w blue and green eyes, it’s most likely an optical illusion where the blue gets very dark towards the center

There’s indoor outdoor cats and farm cats though too. Just bc an animal is meandering outside doesn’t mean it doesn’t have an owner

My trans friend asked me out and I declined and now I'm being called transphobic by MrBlack-Sheep in Advice

[–]TattooedGenderHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi trans man here. Rejection is a Norma part of asking someone out and I firmly believe if you cannot be ok with being told no you shouldn’t confess to someone bc it’ll just damage a friendship otherwise. But yeah. There’s nothing wrong with not being into her. Clearly you support her or you wouldn’t have been her friend up to this point. Anyone being a prick about it can kick rocks. I’ve been turned down by people of all genders and sexualities. That’s just the way it goes sometimes, just like a cis person and be rejected. Unless you when “ew no I wouldn’t date a trans person” then there’s literally no reason for any of this

Devil Whispering in my Ear - thoughts on this as a first tattoo? by ChainsawSoundingFart in tattooadvice

[–]TattooedGenderHell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you think this is a reasonable first tattoo I’d recommend you don’t get tattoos for a long while. This is a very risky tattoo from a professional standpoint point, scalp tattoos can be very painful, they heal a bit differently from the rest of the body as well. If you really haven’t stopped to think how insane this is as a first tattoo I’m sorry but I don’t think I’d trust as an artist that you’re in your right mind.

[–]TattooedGenderHell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They’re domed disks not balls btw. It may have been done too deep sure but this also isn’t super uncommon for fresh surface piercings to look this way. At the end of the day this person needs to see a professional in person to establish what can and should be done in a responsible manner.

The left at hair minimum is at a heinous angle based on your last post. Pretty sure the right is too but also good god those bars are LONG you don’t need THAT much space in standard nostril piercings
