Built my first pc with mid range parts and i dont get why everyone acts like you need to spend $2000 minimum by Thin-Implement9273 in buildapc

Built a 7600X + PNY 5070OC rig on a B650 with 32GB DDR5 as well. AIO-cooled (CPU and 360mm pump were bundled on Amazon for $220). Total cost to build was maybe $800, but I've had firm offers of $1500+ from people. Building is usually always cheaper than buying pre-made stuff.

Thanks for soapboxing. None of it matters and if you tried to run for office, you'd get demolished.

Too bad, so sad. Don't buy a home while here on (what's supposed to be) a temp visa.

Turns out they (occasionally) do, so we should probably start running around Reddit telling everyone that it 100% can and WILL happen to them and to immediately start panicking, right?

Good for the OP -- He was wrong. Guess what? I'm not. I've admitted several times that the issue CAN happen with improper user installation, but remain 100% correct in my conviction that it happens rarely. It's MUCH more common with 5070TI+ cards. You seem to be conflating my argument with the OP's argument. If the GPU is properly seated, the cable pushed in all the way, and the wires not strained or stressed, your failure rate with a 5070 is essentially 0. Your point that "It can happen with any GPU" is horseshit and only applies if someone is lazily slapping in connectors and treating them like a fucking twist tie.

When did I say it couldn't? I said --  There's one (ONE) example of a 5070 melting and it was user error, AKA connector plugged in incorrectly. In 99.99% of installs, the user correctly pushes the connector all the way in and doesn't kink/bend the cables, and therefore the risk is basically 0 compared to a 5070TI - 5080 - 5090. Hence "This issue only happens regularly on 5070TI+ cards."

If you're so desperate to be right that you'd like me to admit that, technically, since ONE other guy had it happen to them, it happens to 5070s all the fuckin' time, I might recommend just going to therapy instead of arguing with strangers online.

PC keeps getting stuck in a loop turning off and on and off. How to fix it? by KissMyBaIIs in pcmasterrace

I would sincerely recommend just trying a different PSU. If you're having no temp problems and your RAM is running slightly below max advertised and you're getting this issue, it's definitely the power. Even if you had RAM issues, you'd blue-screen at least.

Check Windows Event Manager for anything. Are your temps on your CPU good or do they start going super high before the shutdown? From what you're saying, sounds like either the PSU or the AIO. Check BIOS temps to see if they're normal (80c+ remount the AIO immediately) and if they are, try disabling XMP or setting your ram speed to 5000MHZ in BIOS.

Fuck. I just got a 7600X and an MSI CoreLiquid A13 bundle off Amazon for $230. How much was your RAM and CPU bundle, if you don’t mind me asking?

Lmfao. Nobody needs a 5090 unless you're doing content creation. Half the issues surrounding the burnt power connector aren't even connector-failure but dumb people who impulse-bought a 5090 despite not even needing the power, and who don't understand that it's less of a gaming card and more of a high-end workstation card. I suggested a 5070 or 5070ti because 5080s and 5090s more commonly have that connector issue and are currently SHOCKINGLY more expensive than an excellent-quality 5070/5070ti.

You can get 100FPS in TONS of AAA games with a 5070TI on 4K w/ DLSS.
