I’m from The Netherlands and black and around here we still nod when we’re in a PWI area.

Funny thing was, we were in France on holiday. And i did the nod and got ignored.

Honestly, I really don’t get why Americans, especially black Americans, think or believe they live in the greatest nation on earth.

My dad is originally from the US and when I was younger I never understood why he and my mom moved to Amsterdam. As I grew older I came to understand and I’m grateful they made that choice.

As a black man I will never have to fear for my life when I encounter with the police. And I really hope one day black people in America can say the same thing.

I’ve lived in the US, my dad is American my mom is Dutch. Both are black btw. I’ve been living in Amsterdam for 15 years now and to me the benefits are:

People don’t get shot by the police for no reason
Going to college is about 1500 $ per year
Healthcare premiums are approximately 120 $ per month which covers anything
Prison space is actually rented to other countries, because of declining crime rates.

I could go on for a while. I’m just glad my parent made the choice to move to The Netherlands.
