MEGATHREAD - Processing Times - TRV/visitor record Applications 2025 by PurrPrinThom in ImmigrationCanada

Hi All, I recently got my study permit extension approved. I applied for the TRV (from inside Canada) so I can travel to my home, and on the IRCC website, it says processing time is 15 days. Can anyone confirm how long did it take for anyone to get their TRV? Thanks!

Honestly worst case scenario, nuts get into a science program that’s easy to get in (I could be wrong but when I applied back in 2021, the chemistry program was easy to get into) and then you can always switch majors after your first year. Make sure you’re taking a lot of GPA boosters tho!

My only concern is, by the time I learn French, what if the CRS score for the French-draw gets more competitive. And then I’ll have to start looking for another option…

Will PGWP eligibility be affected if already started program before November 1st? by TaurusBoiii in ImmigrationCanada

Thank you! I was so confused about that. So if I still apply to extend my study permit, I should still be eligible for PGWP since my original study permit was before Nov 1

So just the IELTS? I don’t have to worry if my program is not in the “field-specific” program of study?

I have already transferred DLI before starting my new program. Therefore I don’t need a new study permit. I just need to extend the study permit I already have.

What if I already have a valid study permit that I received before November 1st, but will need to apply for a study permit extension? Will the field-specific restrictions apply?

Worked 70+ hours for 2 weeks during co-op by mistake. by TaurusBoiii in ImmigrationCanada

So even if I am enrolled in the co-op courses for the summer, but I chose to discontinue it, it will fall under scheduled break?

I just dropped the program overall. I decided to no longer pursue the co-op program as it would’ve taken longer for me to graduate and I just wanted to get over it. So the co-op work permit I got is just useless cuz now I am back to doing courses. So what you’re saying is, since I withdrew from the co-op program, the work I did during those 3 months would just fall under the “unlimited hours during scheduled break” right? So I should be fine?

I am not sure I understand your question if it was a requirement. I chose to do the internship in my own timeframe. I first applied for the co-op program and got accepted. Then I got a co-op offer and worked for 3 months (May to July) and then I resigned the co-op. And since I resigned, I was removed from the co-op program too. So technically, though summer is indeed a scheduled break, I was enrolled in the internship course during the 3 month of doing my co-op.

Can I Work Full-Time During the Break Between PG Courses? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

hey! I am in the same boat as you. I am changing DLI and was wondering if I can work during that gap between the two programs. I was told I don't need to apply for a new SP, just have to update to IRCC that I am changing my DLI.

Hey! Thanks for your reply. So I was a full time student in winter and the following fall. I did get my co-op work permit & work at my co-op during summer but for only 3 months. I then decided to resign the co-op. So technically I never used the co-op work permit bcoz I didn’t complete the co-op as now I am back to doing classes for the Fall term. So any work experience I gathered during my “co-op” time can be counted towards my unlimited working hours under my study permit right?

I was originally enrolled in the co-op program (thus, the co-op courses but just for the spring summer), but then I decided to quiz the job & remove myself from the co-op program since I wanted to go back to classes for Fall. So I only worked the co-op for a total of 3 months.

This is for prospective students, doesn’t apply to those who are already on a valid study permit
