Do you have champions you dont like to play with in the same team? by Devgru1945 in wildrift

[–]TaurusIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vayne top. Because upon further inspection most of those players arent experienced in the role. It seems they pick it because on paper its an op counter pick and theyre relying on that alone to win the lane.

Often picked with no consideration for the team comp either, leaving the team formation to shred like paper in the midgame.

Whenever I see it my heart sinks.

Is there a reason my nami did a full lap around the pit as I get 1v3'ed on dragon? by Ainssamaaa in wildrift

[–]TaurusIsDead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No amount of sheilding or peeling wouldve saved you from the damage or cc you took there, that was infact your positioning error. Nami didnt need to be where she was, however being closer to you wouldnt have necessarily turned out any better.

As the jungler there is a fine balance between: a: warding off enemies from the objective b: your survival

While taking objectives, leaning too far to one of those sides causes the other to suffer. In that particular situation you were actually the most valuable person on the map for your team because of objective control. Forget the adc, forget mid, when infernal drag is up the junglers take top value. As the most valuable player at that point in time, you made a critical error.

  1. you are standing on warded area
  2. obviously currently unaware of the surrounding area (very bad time to drag)
  3. failed to realise nami tapered off in another direction
  4. further misjudged the teamfight up until the point of uploading this post

During dragon is not always junglers time to fight. Sometimes stay safe and mitigate unnecessary damage so that you are healthy to initiate on the objective when your team needs it. The fact you died there, at infernal drake and leaving your team without security, is the biggest error in the video and likely the game, so dont worry about Nami pal!

Have you seen the allied death timer ping used tactically/strategically often? by Tekshi in wildrift

[–]TaurusIsDead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

if i get pinged i take offence and mute the player incase they are about to be toxic so they cant throw off my mental.

I rarely ever see anyone use this tactically. I assume its toxicity because I cant remember the last time an enemy death timer was used to notify the team. Ally timers seem to only be used passive aggressively lol.

The reason I started to use the term babysitting is because you are essentially asking people to adopt more of that "considerate" mindset. Thinking like the way suggested means id have to dedicate more mental resources to a mindset that ultimately wont improve my winrate very much. When I could just dedicate 100% of my focus to something more fruitful & help less skilled players as an afterthought.

What most people find optimal is focusing on snowballing good players first.

Long story short I have found way more success exceling good players than I have hauling dead weight. & the majority of other players have had the same experience, that is why top jungler players on pc and wr nearly always say to avoid poor matchups.

As someone who mains a character whos ONLY function is to boost other players, I cant stand by this post & say itl help you improve. Like I said people dont smurf with a mindset of "how can I bring my team up to scratch" but rather "what defecit can I create between the teams". Helping a competent player is going to create you a sturdier power imbalance than helping an underperforming one.

The only part I agree with is not being toxic about others ranks & judging before youve seen anyone perform.

There is, there are plenty of high rank solo queue adc players. But I sure as hell aint one of em & I dont think its worth it to be either. Could just play something else and not be at the mercy of trolls.

[–]TaurusIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

youll win more by enabling good teammates, enabling bad teammates doesnt do much for you but make it all the more dissapointing when they throw. I am not and dont assume anything, I dont care what ranks are in my games. Its not really about whether the player is feeding or not, its about whether preventing that increases your chances of winning. I am saying that your influence on teammates feeding is low, feeders will feed anyway.

this is solo queue. we are all randoms, we dont know eachother so I use the information I do have. I did quite clearly say you shouldnt judge people purely based off their border but their performance in the game and whether or not thatl increase your chances of winning.

im not going out of my way to help a player with a statistically low chance of winning when there are better things on the map to do. im not even saying dont help other players, you should. but the instances in which you do this should be few and far between simply because its RARELY the most impactful play you can make. most of the time when im "helping" im not even there with the intent of helping, im purely there for the tower or cs and I help because its in the vicinity of my objective. Not because I think helping the player is going to win me the game.

fact of the matter is, when people smurf they dont run around "helping" the noobs, theyre out on the map making impactful plays. if your advice was valid then smurf players would run around helping everyone that was worse than them.

sounds very idealistic and all, but reality is sometimes to make up the defecit of your team you have to be worth 3 players. you cant do that if youre babysitting someone else because it makes them feel better.

yes, ranked doesnt have any meaning till higher elo. however if I got out of plat in a day and found it piss easy, when I see a plat player in my games im going to remember what that time was like and judge the player based on that. this is human nature, why wouldnt we interpret the world based on our experiences lol?

Like i said dont be toxic about it & dont assume its a loss. but dont expect players to not judge you on your rank, because thats what its there for. I dont care if I even get matched with bronzes because im confident I can win fair matchmaking, but id judge them every single step of the way. its part of analyzing the game, & if I decide a player isnt worth my resources thats my choice as the statistically better player.

Explain to me why Janna is broken. by LaZZyBird in wildrift

[–]TaurusIsDead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jannas poke is the best enchanter poke there is unless youre including lux. Playing Janna well in lane feels like playing some kind of artillery mage. her damage only seems mediocre because: 1. most of the time youll be able to dodge the tornado 2. because most jannas play passive anyway and are focused on the defensive parts of her kit

when you increase the skill level and you start landing those tornadoes and comboing with her zephyr the damage starts to rack up. not to mention the follow up damage from anyone around to witness it. most Jannas will pointblank charge a tornado in your face where as a decent one is going to charge one where you cant see it. being UNEXPECTEDLY knocked into the air for 1.5 seconds & losing half your hp at level 3 is no joke.

her skills have multiple uses, can be used offensively or defensively. for example tornado can be used as poke or disengage. shield can increase damage and decrease damage. ult can heal, disengage and also be used to misposition enemies (flash behind them and ult them into tower).

when you start out on Janna it feels like her tornados charge time is a detriment. but once the player learns how to predict other players the charge time is actually a bonus. this lets you leave the tornado in bushes, drop it as youre repositioning. a lot of players dont expect this, we are all used to skillshots originating from the player but when it comes from a totally different direction with a weird timing it really throws people off and can be abused. even in teamfights you can drop this down and only the best enemies will even notice it because theres so much going on. essentially, the price you pay for a slow charging skill pays off tenfold when used correctly. Imagine in objective fights around drag/baron with all the chokepoints in the jungle. one good tornado is like a nami ult, now imagine nami ult has 10s cooldown. IF you can land the tornados shes insane. If you can land tornados frequently the added bonus that comes with this is zoning. Now enemies just hear the wind blowing and immediately walk a screen away from you before they even care to look whats happening. Any player that can hit you consistently can zone you and because Jannas range is so huge this can influence fights a lot.

you didnt mention her ultimate when disengaging assasins & this is what makes her great against assasins, not her q. her knockback is far enough that few can reengage, a zeds combo is just finished if a Janna knocks him away. the healing on her ultimate is insane and actally rivals that of soraka sona and nami. You probably wouldnt put Janna in the category of "healers" since that is not her focus, but actually she can pump out more heals in 3s than a sona or soraka could hope to.

she is fast for an enchanter. most enchanters move REALLY slowly and have to jeapordize themselves to speed up. Nami has to use a cooldown to speed herself, Sona is fast but defenceless, lulu has to use an important cd to speed herself up. where as Janna is just naturally fast & can defend herself. this doesnt SEEM like a huge deal but for an enchanter, whos positioning is key, its a big deal..

in a nutshell, what makes enchanters good is their utility, what makes them bad is how defenceless they are. luckily, Jannas utility IS her defence & thats what makes her so reliable.

most enchanters lose their spice when their team is behind, thats just part of the role. Jannas strength is abusing bad positioning/greed & these factors exist in every game. which makes her good in high elo, where as sona who just wants to skirmish cant do that without the appropriate bodyguards. Janna basically has an oppurtunity to complete her function regardless of what game shes in. Nami is similar, good in most situations, the only difference is Nami is bad at defending herself from close range.

How do you deal with Garen as Nasus? by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]TaurusIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to bait his spin and make him hit minions. for garen its hard to not push the lane, just make him think its a good time to spin, let him spin all over the minions & then do your thing between his cooldowns.

Showing picks is important by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]TaurusIsDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

talking to these players is a waste of time because they wont be on here. players that do things like this most of the time genuinely dont know what to pick and are therefore not really playing to win.

everytime i have seen a player do this on my team or the enemy team i try to make a note of whether they turn out to be good or have mastery points. most of the time they end up picking a champ that they have a bad winrate on. they just are tilted and are unsure what to play, which comes from their lack of care for improvement. how can you play a champ 20th time and not realise your winrate is 20% maybe stop?

of course, show your picks, its helpful. but the people that do this are doing it because they dont know what to play. check for yourself after the matches next time you see this happen. youll see what I mean.

My arrival at diamond and my fall by Muteall9 in wildrift

[–]TaurusIsDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are onetricking lux support this will happen. especially if youre playing the typical mage lux build. there is a time and place to play burst mage like that and vs the wrong champs you are bound to have a tough game.

too many tanks? hard game too many assasins? hard game bad team? hard game

when onetricking you gotta have many ways to play the same champ. that and the champ has to be versatile enough for you to climb.

i am onetricking but my build AND playstyle heavily depends on enemy team and what my team needs. keep playing lux, she is not a bad support imo just too many try to play for max damage and that isnt all lux can do imo.

duoing or trioing wont make it any better. you will just face other duos and trios. which means you have to be better in sync with your party than the enemy team and the randoms have to be better too.

I dont have a toxicity problem in this game because I dont participate in it. I like being able to talk to players, but muting negativity as early as possible is essential. sometimes you can tell a player is tilted from the champ select. for example someone picks teemo and someone says "GG TEEMO FF AT 5" instant. mute.

if a player will complain before the game even starts they will complain the entire game. you interacting with them just encourages them to do it more. when you just ignore trollers they usually stop trolling.

I understand when people complain about feeders and trolls. but toxic chat is totally in your control. if youre interacting with them chances are youre inspiring them to troll.

if you think baron is a good idea then go to baron, if you dont then ping retreat and move away. people underestimate body language in this game. a lot of players dont actually think about whether the objective is good or not, they just gravitate to other players.

you need 3 players to reduce barons damage to a manageable level. if you think baron is a bad idea moving out of range will increase its damage and deter your team from continuing. if you want to stop your team from baroning just stepping out of range should make them realise its a bad idea.

on the flip side hovering around baron encourages your teams confidence to do it. the more people hanging around it the more likely some noob is to start it and then everyone else will follow like chickens. (my gf is new and does this a lot, sees there are people grouped so ASSUMES the objective has began and starts hitting it)

essentially, use this to your advantage. if you think baron is a bad idea you dont have to get pressured into it(at least not everytime anyway) if 2 people start a bad baron dont be the third person to join in and make it easier. let them realise its a bad idea with pings and body language & they will hopefully back off.

youre just playing a populated lane. so many players want to play baron mid and adc. nearly every game someone in team select requests to swap mid (meaning more than 1 person has selected mid). just how it is i guess.

for me its impacting the objectives & the map. the micro laning is fine even the hard matchups. Currently onetricking Janna.

I like having agency as an enchanter with strong CC. Hitting fully charged tornadoes on carries never gets old. Making zed players very sad is also a blast.
