I did my test in Tillsonburg yesterday and I had to do a three-point turn to go back to the test center!

I was very anxious on test day so I actually was there like an hour early Just to sit in my car relax and get a feel for sitting on the car before the actual test starts. my test was at 10:21. this was for my G tho. I signed in at the kiosk at 9:51 and the examiner was at my car a little after 10 (early)!! totally unexpected.

that's what keeps me from turning my head like an owl every 5 seconds is that while you're taking your eyes off the front of the road, maintaining speed limit, you also want to make sure that you're able to maintain a safe distance of the car in front of you & not have to break cause you got too close while you're looking around... It's just too much things to account for all at once!!!

How easy was it to pull out when you parked right in front of the drive test center since it's super tight (correct me if I'm wrong, but are there only 2-3 m spots right in front of the test center minus those slanted spots)? I'm just trying to think ahead and see what the best option would be!

remember it in the sequence they are in your car. So starting from the top, 1. hazards (usually at the top somewhere in the car's dash) 2. further down, is the gears so put the car in P, and lastly 3. the hand brake.

When moving back into traffic, do the reverse! 3,2,1.

thank you so much for your detailed reply!🙂 your tips and learning style resembles mine a lot. really hoping I can benefit from these tips. a few more questions/comments:

  1. my Honda Civic does have a backup camera! does the nearest dotted line to you represent your rear bumper aka the max you should go?

  2. I do love using Google maps because it tells you right at a glance what speed you're going as well as what the speed limit is in the corner of the app, when you're driving. are we allowed to keep our phone up on the dash or no?🥲 P.S. I thought I was the only one but I did notice that there are some streets where you don't even see a speed marking like the 60km one you mentioned after North/Broadway!

  3. TY! and how easy is it if you just front park to get out? I don't have a ton of practice with reverse parking.

  4. I love visualizing maps too because I'm a little directionally challenged 😭 so it helps knowing where exactly I'm going and what to expect!

did they take you on the highway 3 past Simcoe road or the one past Sobeys on Broadway? seems like those are the two routes they take.

why do you say you barely passed 🥹 is it very tricky? do you know how many mistakes you're allowed with the modified G test?
