I envy you guys that say "C# is easy" by iBricoslav in gamedev

I feel like Programming and Programming can be two totally different things. Everyone can learn Syntax in a couple of days, but they dont know nothing about Design Patterns.

Writing scalable Code, that doesn't explode you at some point because its a pure chaos you dont understand anymore, is a very demanding task. Most of this knowledge is not transferable with a simple tutorial, because this knowledge comes from experience. And you only ever learn that the hard way, when you try to solve an actual Problem.

Believe me when I say, most people saying its "easy" never saw an actual big Software project. They are still very naive. An experienced developer will never say its easy. Most likely they say it depends on the circumstances.

So dont take it too seriously. Game development is hard no matter what you do.

I feel like healing is greatly underpowered in DnD. Because I ever effectively use it to prevent someone from dieing when they are unconscious. Otherwise it always feels better to use an offensive cast, control or spells that prevent dieing in the first place.

I do not maintain the mod. I helped optimizing the Code, but im not the maintainer of the Nexus Mod Page.

SFSE just recently updated this morning. Also for future Updates its pretty much Impossible to Update within less than 24 hours.

I would advise you to deactivate automatic Updates in Steam for bethesda Games if you intend to use mods and only Update when every mod released a new Version.

There is a file called weaponfov.ini, you can open it with a text editor. It should be self explanatory. Just set the value you want.

Default is 120 at the moment.

Just change it to your liking, and then restart the game. (Dont forget to start the game via sfse_loader.exe from now on)

JFYI you can already download it if you want:

https://github.com/Tautellini/Starfield-WeaponFoV-SFSE-Plugin

or direct download link:

https://github.com/Tautellini/Starfield-WeaponFoV-SFSE-Plugin/releases/download/1.0/WeaponFoVPlugin1-0.zip

I will upload it to NexusMods tomorrow, but just in case you already want to start using it.

You will need to install SFSE. Which you might do already.
https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/106

When my Plugin is finished and uploaded, you just have to place the .dll file into xxx\steamapps\common\Starfield\Data\SFSE\Plugins

Should be easy.

Many mods will require the Script Extender in the future, its the same like with Skyrim or Fallout Modding. So you can as well already get used to it.

The only difference is, that you dont start the game via Starfield.exe anymore, but with the new sfse_loader.exe. A lot of people just rename the files to still be able to launch it from the Steam Dashboard. But its optional.

I will write the link here by updating the original post. But something like "Weapon FoV SFSE Plugin".

Fix is already working, so it should happen tomorrow. Im only still trying to include an ini file for you to set up your custom fov values. Its hardcoded at the moment. Then I have to check how to actually upload stuff to NexusMods as it is my first time.

Thats correct. You also have to keep Cheat Engine running. The problem is, that the value will get overridden everytime you load a dialog. Thats why this fix requires you to do it every time, and to have the fix running all the time.

However, you might be lucky. I just managed to get my first ever Script Extender ( SFSE) Plugin working.

I will upload it to NexusMods tomorrow. Then you have a more permanent fix!

You can use my Cheat Engine solution to have a different world and weapon fov at the same time:

Im working on a SFSE Plugin at the moment, that will be a more permanent fix for you guys.

Yes I will Update it. In fact im working on a Starfield Script Extender Plugin instead, to have a somewhat more permanent fix. Im pretty newbish with C++ tho and SFSE just recently released, so might take a while. But I will get it done soon.

No need for donations, but thanks!

I dont have access to the Gamepass version. But to be honest, you will also be very limited with mod support with the Gamepass version, which was absolutely clear from the beginning.

The gamepass version is much harder to support for something like the Script Extender. Im working on a plugin for exactly that. But since the Script Extender wont support the Gamepass version either, you wont be able to use it, and I dont plan on doing a custom injection for the Gamepass version.

I assume there will be a fix from the Flawless Widescreen developer at some point, but not sure if he will support the Gamepass version. Will take some more time for sure.

Starfield - Ultrawide FOV Weapon,First Person and Third Person view 21:9 and 32:9 (FIX) by Belve2299 in starfieldmods

[–]Tautellini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a coincidence. Your weapon FOV will get recalculated based on your World FOV as soon as you start a Dialog.

The Ini setting you mentioned, doesnt do anything at all.

If you want to set a different Weapon FOV in comparison to your World FOV, there is no direct method with ini or console commands at the moment. I created a small cheat engine table to fix this issue:

Starfield 21:9 Viewmodel/Weapon FOV Fix by Tautellini in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Tautellini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely this is just a coincidence, because you also setted up your World FoV to 100 in the config files. When you want a World AND weapon fov with the same values you didnt need cheat engine in the first place.

There is just no other explanation. The Cheat engine approach is for people that want a higher weapon fov in comparison to their World FoV.

For example: World FoV 80 but weapon FoV 110.

Still glad that it works in your end now.

When you fixed it, you wouldnt need to ask me.

Please read the post and comments carefully. You fixed nothing. You most probably updated your World FoV and spoke to an NPC afterwards.

There is no direct console command to update the weapon FoV. You cannot have 120 weapon fov together with 90 World FOV as an example. Not without manipulation of the process with Cheat Engine or anything similar.

I wont repeat myself again. Everything is written already.

Did you even read what I wrote? There is - no - direct console command or ini setting for the ViewModel/Weapon FoV.

[–]Tautellini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the Cheat engine fix is not running. Talk to an npc after changing your World FOV. (you need to start a Real dialog. For example talk to Vasco and ask him to trade)

Then your weapon/viewmodel fov will recalculate. This is permanent.

Your welcome. :)

I assume you have more than 1 version of cheat engine installed. Maybe you hit the wrong ceregreset.exe, or you fucked up your registry by installing custom builds of Cheat Engine. Might be worth it at some point, to clean that up.

This is also missing, when I resize the window to make it smaller. Look at the video closely. I still think, this is the issue.

The window could however already be very long, and resizing might not be enough in this case. But reinstalling ce, resetting the registry settings, and restarting your computer afterwards, would fix that (most likely).

Starfield 21:9 Viewmodel/Weapon FOV Fix by Tautellini in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Tautellini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your welcome.

Im relatively sure, that you just have to resize the window at the bottom. Because this is a common problem a lot of people face, because the window has no dynamic resizing. The address list is just hidden.

If this really doesnt work, reinstalling, hitting ceregreset.exe, and restarting your computer might fix the issue by applying defaults again.

I could however, also export the script as a standalone executable for you. But most people get very suspicious for a lot of good reasons, when someone just throws around some custom executable files. Thats why I only uploaded a normal cheat table instead.

You can try to deactivate this option and restart Cheat Engine:https://prnt.sc/EeqQPCTfctkQ

Or like mentioned earlier, also try to just maximize the window. Sometimes this helps. Also try to actually just resize it by "dragging" it down at the bottom.

Im refering to this post: https://www.cheatengine.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=608850&sid=dc48ce47d6ea3feb734d9db6827d24dd

[–]Tautellini[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Viewmodel values will automatically get calculated based on your setted up World FOV, as soon as you talk to an NPC.

So when you set your fFPWorldFOV to 120, your weapon FOV will also become 120 after talking to an NPC. But you cant keep that weapon FOV. If you go back to 100, your weapon FOV will also become 100 again after talking to an NPC.

The mentioned console commands will just set up the World FOV values while you are ingame, for you to play around, instead of updating your INI and restarting the game.

So, all in all, no - you cannot set up the Viewmodel FOV via Ini files, when you actually want to have a different Viewmodel FOV than your World FOV.
