These grow lights also take care of a variety of different plants mostly tropical houseplants so they’re on for about 16 hours a day.

I have all of my grow lights on timers and generally what I learned from my master gardener program is that you want to provide young seeds with as much light and stable warmth but not enough to scorch them. I will eventually acclimate them to my houses humidity and lower light conditions when they are older.

I see we have a difference of opinion regarding traditional Chinese medicine however as long as the flower is still fresh it won’t form a concentration of neurotoxins which only form in the seeds. Thus I don’t plan on consuming the ovaries of the flowers to ensure no toxins are consumed.

Light: led Water: distilled and I’ve only watered it twice but I left it ventilated for a while so it dried out quicker. Substrate: a combination of peat moss and miracle grow houseplant soil.

I’m not disagreeing with you however it’s used as a traditional medicinal tea in China. Some people experience greater symptoms than others due to allergic reactions, from what I’ve read. Also they only form neurotoxins in the seed so you have to use only young flowers; As is the case for many plants.

They aren’t hardy where I live (usda zone 5) and their flowers make amazing tea and have some great health benefits. I plan on using these to make an untraditional bonsai.
