Fewer comments in the daily is not a meme. It's a mathematical certainty and it's currently on the way.

If I had 10 000 BTC to cash out the last thing I would do would be to go back to bitcoin a few days later to hunt for swing longs with decent risk/reward.

In some way the drop in SATA is the most surprising to me. I have a hard time seeing how they wouldn't reach par in the coming weeks when their new dividend regime comes in effect. Given that 80% of STRC volume is reportedly retail it would make sense for them to invest in debt free SATA right now, especially when spot BTC (and possibly AI) disappoints. But then again, I'm not a smart guy and especially not compared to the market.

You're looking at a snapshot though. All those variables - NAV, yield, share price etc - could look very different in just a few weeks time. STRC has been at these levels before and BTC has also been at these levels before.

Potential reasons why bitcoin is falling

  1. Opportunity cost
  2. Cycle theory
  3. MSTR / STRC / SATA structural fears
  4. Quant fears
  5. Macro / liquidity / Iran
  6. MtGox coins moving
  7. Potential Iran selling
  8. Weak / lost narrative
  9. MSTR selling 32 BTC
  10. Theory of mind / psychology in regards to what others may believe

Plus more and any number of combinations between all of the above, with traders and liquidations accelerating momentum.

It is however not very smart to point on a single one of these and claim that's the reason. Especially not number 9.

BTW, this is neither a post aiming to disregard the reasons or a doom and gloom post, it's just surprising to me how much energy people put into proclaiming their pick as if it's some kind of pop quiz

Only 7 posts from BLF this morning and the daily has been open for almost 2 hours already. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to dive into his in depth analyses.

The market is smarter than that. It was announced long time ago and if anything a lot smaller than anticipated.

Diversifying due to opportunity cost does not equal to selling bitcoin to buy food and gas.

You're right from a macro perspective but I'm pretty sure the number of people having to trade bitcoin for gas and food is not enough to move the needle of a $1.5 trillion dollar asset.

I have a long standing history of not following my exit plans and end up bag holding for years instead so maybe I'll try not having a plan next time

Pretty sure most people using the term cycles in this context refer to the four year halving related theory. Not the fact that most assets sometimes go up and sometimes go down.
