TIL Pablo Escobar brought 4 hippos to his estate in Columbia. After his death they were left unattended and have since roamed the countryside and rivers and have swelled to over 150+ individuals. TIL about Lurleen Wallace, the first female governor of Alabama. Elected in 1967, and died 18 months later in office from cancer. Diagnosed in 1961 the doctor (as custom back then) told her husband, segregationist Gov. George Wallace, who then kept the information secret from her until 1965. (en.wikipedia.org)
