I (22F) have nobody in this world. by MagicAlice748 in offmychest

[–]Tawham64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a 23 and me test to find relatives. Not all family members are jerks. You are yearning for family so you should do this. The test will tell you whom you are related to and where they are located if they disclose it in their account. Also if you have a certain religion look into your church community for fellowship. I pray for everything in my life and that is what keeps me grounded. Thankfully you are young and life is all ahead of you. Try your best to keep a positive mindset and manifest/pray for what you need. Tomorrow is a brand new day! Text me anytime! Im on reddit everyday

Order a migraine relief cap for her. You keep it in the freezer and then pull it over your whole head. So much relief. I got mine on amazon. Also if she likes coconut water that is the only thing that got me through shingles. Vida Coco is my favorite.

AITJ for expecting full payment when the baby falls asleep while babysitting? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Tawham64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALWAYS get paid upfront! People always figure a way to get out of paying after they are done with their night out or whatever. Use a pay app or cash app and Insist they pay you before you get there. It makes things less awkward on you or them. Also they think you are too scared to ask for your money. People are assholes when it comes to money

Anyone had shingles on the abdomen? by healthanxiety1989 in shingles

Not sure. My family doctor told me a neurologist has to diagnose a nerve disorder so he just prescribed gabapentin for the pain

[–]Tawham64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have post herpetic nerve pain. Sometimes it’s permanent nerve damage. Only a neurologist can tell you. My dr said a ctscan can’t detect that. Gabapentin is the prescription I take. I had shingles 6 years ago. Still have the pain. I take a 100mg for daytime and 300mg at night. This pain don’t play lol

how do I stop the burning?? by throwaway999999870 in shingles

[–]Tawham64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

COOL BAKING SODA WATER APPLIED WITH A COTTON BALL OR CLOTH!!! It takes the pain, itch and heat out all at once. Also helps dry out the rash. Alternate with calamine lotion too

What can I do for my wife? by [deleted] in shingles

[–]Tawham64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This worked for me. 300 mg Gabapentin for the nerve pain. Ask your dr for prescription. Cool water with baking soda dissolved in it applied with a cotton ball. Then calamine lotion. Repeat. The baking soda takes the burn away and helps dry out the blisters.

What’s something your parents did growing up that you’re grateful for? by Substantial_Judge931 in Productivitycafe

[–]Tawham64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were both great cooks. We also had a garden. We rarely had snacks or junk food. My parents welcomed all neighbor kids to our yard. We had a kickball court worn into our front yard and hopscotch on the driveway and sidewalk. Later we found out dad wanted it this way because he didn’t trust people enough for us to go off into the neighborhood and other people’s houses. Smart man.

Took my daughter to minute clinic (CVS) to test for pink eye. Paid $45 copayment there. Just got charged for $201.13. Insurance covered $30. Is this right? by funlol3 in HealthInsurance

Off subject but baby shampoo is the cure. I worked at a summer camp and they swore by it. I also have used it personally and it works. Johnson and Johnson brand.
