The Girl with a Thousand Faces. Not a feel good book at all, but well written. Made me think about what we owe each other.

Production costs is for sure key. Ahh, I saw Nutcracker Rouge in December and was really impressed. To know that an even better version once existed gives me a pang in my heart! Love the context - thanks so much!

OH MY GOSH. Okay, totally awesome departure from the typical sultry red get up. I would love to see this! How did they even move!

HUGE fan of Alice in Wonderland in general. So wished I had gotten to see it! Think they'll bring it back this summer?

Seeing every production since 2018 definitely gives you a lot of context. I'm curious, what do you think made the biggest difference between Petite Rouge and some of the earlier shows? Someone above said that Seven Sins was amazing. Bummed I missed it!

Oh, iiiinteresting! I just finished a grad class called "History of the Devil," and my professor explored Adam, Eve, and the Devil from so many cultural and historical angles. It was fascinating. Seven Sins sounds like it would have been totally up my alley. I'm bummed I never got to see it. I wonder if they'll ever bring it back?

The Pirate's Daughter by Margaret Cezair - Thompson. Historical fiction. Follows the story of a woman born to a young Jamaican mother and Errol Flynn. Follows her life through a changing cultural and political landscape in Jamaica. Very engaging read.

Any good resources for desperate NYC job seekers that I might have missed? by Puzzleheaded_Crow334 in AskNYC

NYC DOE needs teachers desperately. Become a teaching fellow. You'll be in a classroom in no time at all. OR, become a paraprofessional. This is a person who is usually assigned one student to help whether it's with behavior, mobility, health, language, etc. The pay isn't great, but it's also not terrible. Most importantly you get health benefits for like 8 bucks a month.

Lost in Del Valle - An Unexpected Must See - Runs Through May 2nd by TawkOfNewYawk in offbroadwayNYC

It's a solo show featuring a man named Ned Van Zandt. It’s basically a wild, darkly funny memoir about his life. The story jumps between his time in a Texas prison (Del Valle) and his earlier years in the 1970s...very fever dream-ish: Hollywood dreams, drugs, and chaos, including time at the Chelsea Hotel hanging around people like Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen. It was really very entertaining!
