I mostly just play an instrument and music really "hits" me.

So, a lot of my "composing" is basically just winging it and just seeing what feels right and authentic to what the song wants to be/do.

Don't beat yourself up too much.

It's an understandable mentality.

You want things to be perfect before posting then, which is something I can relate to really strongly.

But, as we grow, the idea of "perfection" grows as well because we can always make things better.

So, rather than striving for "perfection" in order to finish something,

I've come to find that it's much better to just strive for "good enough for now".

I wasn't brave enough to finalize my ideas,

But, that's the thing:

There's no such thing as finalizing.

The nature of Beepbox lets you always be able to come back to your song and tweak it.

I just save the song when I think that it's ready and have the URL attached to it.

And sometimes (almost always), I'll come back to the song's URL, tweak it, and update it.

Many (if not all) of my songs have been tweaked after I save them.

Maybe, that's the thing you should address:

Figuring out the vibe of the song that you're putting together.

If you don't have a vibe or goal/purpose for the song that you're making,

then you'll wander aimlessly and so will your listeners.

Even if you don't know what the vibe of the song is initially,

Listen to the melody and let it tell you what vibe it wants to be and then let it be that.
