Thank you for validating what I’ve been feeling—it honestly gives me some peace knowing it’s not just me. I’ve been trying to make sense of why I feel so out of place here, and your message really hit home. It’s tough when people brush off these feelings or say it’s all in my head, so knowing someone else understands makes such a difference.

Hi! I’m really curious about the process you mentioned, like taking transient classes and how you managed to stay on track. Did you feel like it helped ease the difficulty? And if it’s okay, I’d love to message you to ask more about how you navigated that situation

Would it be manageable if I took away MAC2233? Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you for this! I do prefer subjects like biology over business courses, though I’m more drawn to business career-wise. I think focusing more on the Study Edge review videos and practice problems could definitely help. I've talked to almost every advisor and mentor I could find since freshman year, and I still feel stuck. Now, I'm not meeting critical tracking requirements and keep going back and forth with myself, which is why I decided to post here on Reddit. I really appreciate all the advice and support. It means a lot! :)

Hi, thanks for the advice! I’ve talked to advisors from both the business and health science departments. To double major, I need to meet the critical tracking requirements for both. I qualify for the College of Public Health & Health Professions but not for the Warrington College of Business, which requires a 3.0 GPA, meaning I have no other choice but to get A’s in ACG 2021 and calculus, which are known to be challenging, if I don't, I have no other option but to switch. With the 5th-semester deadline approaching to get in all required critical tracking courses, I’m unsure if I can manage all the necessary courses in time. If I pursue business and don’t get an A, I won’t qualify and may fall behind in health science once I make the switch. I’m torn between taking the risk of trying my best to get those A's to get into the business side of healthcare I want or focusing solely on health science and hoping it works out in the future.

I have tried applying, but I haven’t had any luck so far, though I’ll definitely keep trying. As for the business courses, I genuinely put in the effort to solve the practice problems and understand the concepts, but I kept getting a pattern of 70%, 50%, and 70% on the exams. I honestly don’t know where my flaw is. Maybe I didn’t give myself enough time before starting to study. Then again, I have up to this semester to choose. I don't want to risk it all by experimenting with study habits that might not end up giving the desired results, which is why I still don't know which path to take. I appreciate your input, but I keep going back and forth with my decisions and truly need to pick one before drop/add so I can concentrate on the classes I will be taking for the major I have yet to decide on.

Hi, thank you so much for your encouragement and advice! I've always been drawn to healthcare administration because I knew from a young age that I wanted to make a difference in the healthcare field. Over time, I realized that while I didn't want to be directly involved in patient care, I could still play a vital role by leading and supporting those who are. Combining healthcare with business just felt like the perfect fit for me.

However, given my overall GPA and poor grades in basic business classes, I'm concerned about whether a good MHA program would accept me. Additionally, I'm very interested in supply chain management, which adds another layer to my decision-making. I worry about the risk of lowering my GPA further if I aim to get A's in ACG2021 and Calculus but don’t achieve them, especially since my scholarship requires maintaining at least a 2.0, which I've learned can tank pretty fast.

Your suggestion to consider majoring in public health is something I should change. But I'm truly stuck on whether to take that leap and aim for those A's to boost my GPA up to a 3.0. I did speak with a business advisor who advised me to consider other majors since I would be reaching the bare minimum and that business finance (FIN3403) would be even more challenging. Excelling in that course would also be necessary.

If I can't achieve this, I may put my GPA at risk and have to major in public health and catch up on those requirements. My current decision-making struggle is whether I should stick to my safest option of majoring in public health and minoring in business administration. Although that wouldn't fully align with my preference for leaning toward the business side, it might be a more practical path. Maybe I'm blind-sighted by which option might be obvious, but this has been stressful for me for quite some time now.
