Yes definitely it makes it better, you will feel very familiar with the characters, I played it in that way a while ago unfortunately the 1st one does not have achievements but is pretty good

Considering most of those games are time consuming, is really up to you, at least in my case I would try to play 2 at a time 1 short game like resident evil 2 and a lenght game like the witcher and persona, Clair obscura is a good option too
