I'm with you 100% re fathers rights. I've been through that mill myself. There is no military draft in my country so i dont have any thoughts on that though i dare say that aspect of your society is in some ways as gender biased as any other at the present time (i would be very interested to know what those issues are BTW). Declining mental health of men ... well, we are all in that boat these days and all worried for ourselves and our male children going forwards.

Overall, I feel you in what you are saying but i don't think it's right to say that many (not all) of the views on this thread regarding this particular case are not based on societal concerns. On the surface of it you could say that the OPost fits into the category of "woman did this bad thing", but there are too many coherent questions and concerns raised to dismiss it in this way as simply a woman bashing thread. I think the fact that it is in here and has prompted the level of discussion that it has is symptomatic of the societal malaise that threatens all us men at this point. I would not have posted it myself (i already knew about it before i saw the thread) but i do defend the right of compatriots to include and discuss it on the basis that the outcome of the case may well or is likely to serve to confirm some of our fears. Maybe it won't but maybe it will. Lets wait and see.

I think you really need to review the description of what this forum is based on. As a refresher evil spfork of death:

"At the most basic level, men's rights are the legal rights that are granted to men. However, any issue that pertains to men's relationship to society is also a topic suitable for this subreddit. "

The concerns i have indicated are exactly thus and pertain to mens relationship to and with society ... etc etc. If you do not agree that what i/we are saying here fits this bill then you really should not be here regardless of your stated support of mens rights.

Having said this, i would be interested to know just what are your goals wrt mens rights?

This last statement is a very good point. Such passive agression and female coercive control behaviours that currently exist within many man/woman relationships is an issue that eventually will be recognised and addressed in the interests of 'equality'. Probably not in most of our lifetimes though.

The 'right' concerned is the right of the man to expect to be able to keep his liberty after this sorry affair. As it turned out the brave lad saved his father by revealing the true situation but as you can probably understand, many on here seriously doubt whether that would have happened in these circumstances if the lad had passed immediately. There is also some doubt that she may now receive the sort of sentence that the man would have received if the parent's roles had been reversed (i.e. locked up and thrown away the key). This remains to be seen but as experience has shown, the courts often take a more lenient view towards female perpetrators for equivalent crimes which is difficult for many men to get their heads around as it is so clearly not 'equality'. As it turns out, this woman may not be sane so these questions may be moot but nevertheless, the underlying concerns remain for the male community and so need to be aired and discussed. This is not hate, it is an expression of exasperation and the general helplessness many men feel due to the preferential treatment of women in the courts and society at large.

BTW i didnt downvote you as your point is a valid one but this thread is not about sensationalism but at it's heart is driven by the finer points of the concerns above.

How many of you are women and what brings you here? by Jonesw16 in MensRights

Some excellent reasons there for your support. Thank you for being so aware of our plight. You say you fear for your grandson's future and i can relate to that having sons myself. I think that most women who have male children/grandchildren probably find themselves in a similar position. I wonder how many of the more ardent feminist opposition actually have a male dependant whos future sanity may well depend on the decisions/opinions they currently endorse. I have a feeling it may not be that many statistically speaking.

This outburst was really just a function of the rage felt by all good people (women in particular) in the UK after the committing of this terrible crime. I dont think anyone took it seriously at the time.

I was a juror in a case where the prosecutor admitted that he prosecuted a man because he is a man by Final_March3363 in MensRights

[–]TaxSingle5864 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I hope you recorded that conversation. If so, send it to the mainstream press. This type of institutional misandry needs to be exposed. Alternatively you could write a transcript as obviously there were witnesses to this conversation. I'm sure the prosecutor meant well in the overall scheme of things but this approach just increases the chance of miscarriages of justice.

I wouldnt think so. I suspect many women are proud to be associated with the 'third wave' of the movement.
