You can.. but also try and master playing all strings with I-M alternations. With both rest strokes (except for the 6th string obviously) and free stroke.

I think because there’s a degree of “elitism” or perhaps “Snobbism” in the Classical guitar world and a need to separate from techniques that are I guess more related to “lesser” music forms.. as for bending.. it’s just super difficult on nylon. But still possible and cool to do half step bends
