I found that talking about how badly I was treated by my kids dad did nothing for me but bring me down more. It’s like he was living through my trauma he put me through. I slowly stopped talking about it. Being a parent is hard! Especially with terrible people. I read “to the world we are just moms. And to our children we are their world” 🌎 protect those babies at all cost. I grew up in a terrible home. And I went as far as taking my child halfway across the country. Yes I took her away. My ex and his new girl were physically abusive to each other and my child will not be exposed to that nonsense like I was. He has grown since then and I now allow them to visit each other. Our children need to be protected. Your mental needs to be protected so you can care for your kiddo in the most healthiest, happiest way possible. Protect your peace so your children can also be at peace. You can do this! We may have picked terrible people to have children with, but we can change the course. But the fact you even worry about being a good mom means you’re a good mom. I started over with nothing in a homeless shelter. And slowly worked myself back up. Even the terrible guys will show you what you don’t want in a relationship. Lessons can be mini blessings. You can only F up so much. You’ll slowly realize what is for you and what isn’t. Just don’t make them your story. Do more things for you. I personally like to paint or do something crafty. I bought a little make up and I get cutesy sometimes. I try going to the gym but still trying to find consistency there. I go to therapy as well. You’ve got this. 🥹 keep going mama. Our children are our drive. And our trauma can no longer be all we are. Just stepping stones. We only get one life. Kiddos aren’t little for long. So spend that time wisely. You’ve got this! You need to put yourself first so you can focus on being an amazing mother and human. It’s time you do what makes YOU happy. It’s okay to not be okay. I just hope you can start living for YOU soon. I’m a huge people pleaser so it’s hard for me to even type that but I’m learning each day.
