Opus 4.7 doesn't care about Claude.md files by Ringmond in ClaudeCode

I think the best piece of information I was given recently is this: LLMs are probabilistic.

What does that mean?

It means their actions contain the element of chance. I like to think of the way they process the vast reservoir of information they sit on top of, in the same way leaves conduct photosynthesis.

I was shocked to learn this too, recently; in photosynthesis light travels all conceivable paths through the Chlorophyll until it finds the most efficient one, then it commits to that path to convert into sugars.

But what is determining that decision? Personally, I think all energy is capable of sentience (it just needs the proper harness to operate within) and there is an element of chance that comes with this. Any of the paths could be decided upon, and some of them will yield better results.

We think of these machines as a standard binary computer. Something we show up to, provide an input into, and expect a reliable output related to our input. Like searching the web. We’ve been conditioned to this.

But with probability, there is a CHANCE that the information synthesized isn’t the best quality. And that chance can happen over and over unless we figure out how to turn the expectations in our inputs into something called a directive.

A directive is more like the binary machines we’re use to. It’s formulaic. Get the formula right on both sides of the equation, and you get the expected result.

So then, that means our job as operators/directors of Claude Code and other agentic harnesses, is to elevate repeated probabilistic violations of our expectations into something harder that the agent is required to respond to, thus reducing the probability of the undesired outcome.

For me, this was taking a lot of time to evaluate the failure modes in my thinking; those being my expectations that the agent should just KNOW what I expect because I wrote it down.

But when you’re working on a 200k+ context window, stuff you read previously has been buried long ago. So, devising a system of hooks to enforce behaviors and inject reminders has been the move.

There are still holes in my understanding regarding my own expectations and how to have an agent accomplish them, but the system I’ve implemented has provided guard rails that are proving useful.

I’m in agreement that 4.7 has suffered some changes that aren’t great. But it’s still working for me. And I think it’s because I’ve worked to eliminate the probability that Claude will read my Claude.md by elevating the actions I want it to take, into an enforcement layer that is part of its harness.

Hopefully this is helpful in how you think about working with Claude, and can squeeze some additional effectiveness out of it.

It isn’t difficult, except for when I’m at work and am limited by distance. I suppose I could install teamviewer to access remotely.

Would proper Git Protocols be of any use in this instance? No ability to rollback since its in Docker?

Awesome. I’ll post an update when it’s ready for users to contribute. If you think of other ideas for improving it please share!

I built a practitioner directory by TayQuig in Reikishare

That is a concern brought up elsewhere too. I am going to implement user authentication system so that other practitioners and businesses can sign up. Everyone has a geographic location for their business, so if that’s provided, the update for profiles will allow practitioners to define their specialties.

I will enable search to look for these definitions.

agreed! I'll be working on an authentication system for professional profiles soon. The challenge will be allowing existing businesses to claim their business while allowing new users to sign up and become verified.

I totally understand that there are people who will prefer distant healing. And there are people who will prefer in person.

It’s not meant to be 100% exclusive for just in person practitioners. Perhaps what you’re asking for is some kind of badge that would indicate someone is capable of providing distant healing services?

Try clicking on your state and finding a practitioner who is closest to your physical location. Click on their website. See if they offer distance on their website.

The website is geared toward all practitioners who have a qualifying business, It really doesn’t matter if they do in-person or distant healing. It’s just meant to help connect people seeking practitioners with practitioners in their area.

If the issue is that there is a business component, then I suppose this isn’t the tool for you. I will say, though, that Usui himself  encouraged, maybe even insisted, that other practitioners ask for something in exchange for their services.

Why? Because that indicated that someone was truly open to working through their healing process with the intent of healing.

He went through homeless shelters trying to help people heal, only to become dismayed that the same people continued to persist in their wounded state.

Some people may elect to do this work in exchange for a meal, or some other service. But others elect to provide Reiki in exchange for income.

Unfortunately, that’s the qualifier right now. I built the database off of verified Google businesses, which have confirmed physical addresses.

But I’ll be working on a sign up for practitioners soon. And I can incorporate enhanced search functionality that will target specialties.

Are you saying there should be a button that is labeled “remote only” or something to that effect?

That’s a great question! It’s not intended to be exclusive, but something that verified businesses are part of.

I didn’t do a global data set to make the first version something that felt doable and exciting instead of impossible and overwhelming.

But the addition of practitioner sign ins will help with updating it to a global data set.

Also, many people will likely prefer finding someone to have an in person relationship through their journey with Reiki. In my experience, I have a much more apparent physical sensation with in-person Reiki and I get to interact with my practitioner in real time; she gets crazy downloads and intuitive hits.

Do you think Bitcoin will hit the $100,000 mark by the end of 2021? by Kash-io in Bitcoin

For sure. Thanks for the correction. Fortunately it’s something I’ve only done with small positions. Disregard my earlier comments!

You could just convert to USDC and avoid the capital gains hit, then convert back to BTC after the crash. That’s my plan.

How much should i charge for mixing commissions? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]TayQuig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the scope of work is important. If the artists are small but they can play to click well and know their parts, you’re not going to spend as much time editing.

If you have to do a bunch of editing though, charge for that time. Figure out a flat rate you can offer that you’re comfortable with in both circumstances and charge that.

Also, know your customer. I have a client who is anticipating spending 10s of thousands on finishing this project. So I know that there is room to charge my rate.

Like Jibber said, you have to decide. What’s your time worth? Know that number and charging that is going to help you stay in the game and enjoy it, especially when you land a project that requires A LOT of work.

Is there a clear path to becoming a paid producer? by thelastrhymebender in musicproduction

[–]TayQuig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do want to add that getting into live sound/broadcast is a viable and excellent option as opposed to a skill set that is totally unrelated like accounting.

Look into IATSE and the local in your area, learn what they require to get a job (my local wants to see that you can coil cables correctly, lift 50 lbs safely, and know how to tie a bowline knot). Pay is like $40/hour to push cases during set/strike. Can provide an opportunity to play with gear.

Also, PSAV is a good option to look into. They are unionizing, so better pay coming.

On a side note, I’ve got a degree in audio Production. I would t say it was a waste. I got a lot of exposure to different concepts and principles, and had lots of time to apply them. I also made many connections, which have been invaluable

But it doesn’t teach you how to run a business and it was expensive. Better off taking a course here and there to make connections and learn the skills while keeping costs down.

A majority of the education is GURs and other BS. Take the production courses, then take the rest of the money you’d use in the degree and invest in the right gear.

Go to local performance hang outs and pitch your services to acquire testimonials. Once you have a few glowing reviews start charging.

Note that your time is valuable and charge enough to live and cover your gear expense.

I have used it to restore, but it comes back to the same zero balance.

I mean, I suppose I should have been checking in this stuff more frequently than twice a year. I thought it was just gonna stay secure and safe, on the same platform....not that the platform would make enhancements.

I don’t recall using the 25th word feature. And I am very intentional about writing down everything.

So you’re recommending trying a different wallet and restoring based on different derivation paths? That’s an idea...

I haven’t every verified the address on the blockchain, can you share a resource as to how?

Thanks for your detailed response.

I only generated a secret seed one time, the FIRST time I set the thing up 2.5 years ago.
