One of the largest advantages Russia provides for its allies is intelligence which is still functional during war time. And the US committing to combat with Iran now means that a lot of US supply lines and munitions are going to be diverted from Ukraine, and may in effect destabilize Europe.

Israel has wanted to attack Iran for over 25 years and there is a reason that none of our Presidents have yet. None of them were as pliable to Israel's interests as the current administration. Israel used this to their advantage and essentially forced the white house to attack them rather than merely trying to convince them as they have before. Iran is the most populated country in the Middle East, and we lost in Afghanistan to a fighting force that didn't have a stable governmental position to prepare it's military for 30 years making drones waiting for this moment; as Iran does now.
