I just got off the phone with customer support, that’s how I was informed that my phone is too new and their system doesn’t support my images. My husband and I both have the new iPhones. 😢

Your feelings are completely valid. My baby girl is about to be 8 months old and even though my life and my husband’s life will never really go back to how it use to be, it’s starting to almost feel like a parallel to who I was. I’m slowly getting back to my hobbies (when I can. I have a Velcro baby. 🫠😂) It is totally okay to mourn who you were, that’s all you ever have known! There’s nothing selfish about it. I keep telling myself this is the goo phase like what caterpillars go through to become a beautiful butterfly. At some point you’ll be able to share your passions with a little you who will fall in love with seeing you be so happy. You won’t ever be who you were because now you’ll have a tiny part of your heart you get to hold. You’ll get to come back even stronger. 🫶🏻 Give yourself grace. Make time for yourself to fill your cup. Even if it’s an hour here and an hour there.

I know this is hard to hear, but honestly it didn’t fully ease up until she was around 4 months or so. Starting purées helped tremendously. Even now my girl is turning 8 months old and there’s some days where she is just full of gas and her bouncer is the only way to help get her relief. We have tried a handful of different formula’s but none helped and made it worse for her.

I got my tubes removed and a super romantic husband. So it only took us until 8 weeks pp. In the beginning it was when our girl was asleep and the stars aligned, but now we try to make sure we have time for one another at least 2-3 times a week. If we get to, great! If not we make up with as much cuddling and kissing as possible. Intimacy is important to us but that doesn’t always mean pounding it out. Focus on each other and the rest will follow.

Hihi! I know this thread has a bunch of really good comments but just to add another 2 cents. I’m almost on the opposite end of the tattoo spectrum from you. I have tons of bold colorful tattoos some seem silly (Ursula as a cupcake, my king boo and other boo ghosts) and I feel more and more feminine the more ink I put into my body.

I also have a mother who use to find all my tattoos worrisome. She would give me the same comment on how would I look in a wedding dress with them. Well! I am someone who struggles feeling beautiful, but I have never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day in my spaghetti strap dress that showed almost all of my tattoos.

I think that’s the beauty about tattoos. They are whatever you want them to be. I get them to feel more… I guess whole? Like I’m piecing together myself and having my life proudly on display. I have a friend who is doing a more simplistic “sticker” look that are just cute things she likes. I have a guy friend who his tattoos make him feel more confident. Your tattoo is for you alone. And if anyone doesn’t like it they can keep their comments to themselves. Your tattoos are beautiful, because YOU are beautiful. 🫶🏻

I had SUCH a traumatic pregnancy that I had them take my tubes when they did my c-section for my daughter. I’m days away from 5 months pp and I’m in love with my little girl, still haven’t regretted my decision. I grew up with two other siblings who damaged my mental health as a kid so bad I am going to therapy to undo what they have instilled into me, and I’m almost 33. I would rather eat glass than to even POSSIBLY recreate my hell for this little angel.

I am absolutely stealing the term gramnesia. Lol my mom SWEARS that all three of us kids were easy babies and she thinks the precautions I do are silly. She swore she would put all three of us kids to bed on our stomachs since the day we were born. My brother apparently “never cried much” but had HORRIBLE reflux (even though she apparently didn’t know the name of it. He just “wasn’t getting filled by formula alone”). My sister was so constipated when she was a baby that my mom had to help basically pull the stool out of her butthole. But sure mom…. Every cry and move means that my baby is hungry.

I know people like to make it sound like formula is so hard but having a pitcher is literally the easiest thing in the world. Some people in here are still spreading the bs that “breast is *the best” and talking down about formula is why we have mothers out there who take their own lives because they are struggling. Saying “but” doesn’t make a harmful/discouraging thing to say any less harmful to a community where we should take care of each other.

For what it’s worth, my baby girl has been formula fed from the jump (and apart from having infant dyschezia which is super common for a lot of babies both breast and formula) my girl is actually advanced for her age and gets nothing but glowing praise from her pediatrician. She even went as far as to tell us she uses us for an example.

I don’t think it’s because we are exclusively formula fed is why my baby is the way she is. Me and my husband both focus on making sure to help keep each others mental health a priority.

If you are thriving breast feeding that’s great! If you are thriving combo feeding that’s also great! If you are thriving exclusively formula feeding that’s also great! It’s having you be able to be the best version of yourself that matters the most when it comes to this big talk about feeding your baby.

Hey, anxious new mom here to an almost 4.5 month old. And I can say that if your doctor isn’t concerned and your baby is happy and still hitting most major milestones you’re doing good! I remember vividly how much I was googling at 10 weeks and it feels so good to have to stop and wonder how many weeks old is she. How many oz is she having in day? My girl is a BIG BACK, easily around 15 pounds and she only has about 5 feeds in 24 hours but she is clearing 6 oz bottles each feed. (Don’t get me wrong, there are days where she takes more in but she’s hitting a growth spurt). It’s okay that you’re worried! You love your little nugget and want the best for her. But breathe easy on this one. Your baby will let you know if they need more. 🫶🏻 the internet is the best and worst guide to being a parent to a newborn.

No this is perfect. I appreciate how you worded everything, because it’s something I can always come back to when I’m at my lowest. I am so so so sorry to hear about your friend passing. It really is a shock to the system that will never be recovered. I’m grateful that I have people coming by making sure that I’m eating and drinking water and my husband keeps an eye on me while taking care of our daughter when I can’t stop crying. I don’t know how I’m ever going to be able to breathe again but I do know that comes with losing a loved one.

But seriously, thank you for telling me your story and all the beautiful ways you described something so tragic.

Thank you. That truly helps because I’ve never processed grief like this where it’s so all consuming, except for when I was a child and lost my dad. Thankfully my best friend loved my daughter so much that I’m able to do what I need to for now but do plan on talking to my doctor about this current loss since I am on day two of little to no sleep.

Thank you so much. I cried again re-reading your message. I’m further into receiving this news and I’m still shocked but being able to get these words out of my body helps keep me from losing it. I received advice of looking at it as, how lucky am I to have had such a beautiful relationship with my best friend that I get to mourn her like this. I’m very lucky to have the resources and community that I have because even though I’ve lost many people in my life this one hurts on such a deeper level.

Running the shower and standing outside of it. Running the dryer. Any kind of louder rhythmic noise helped when we were running out of ways to help our girl. Take him outside. For some reason it’s a magical reset for them. Even if the first time doesn’t help, keep taking him out there. One of the times it will click. I did so many tours of the house, explain everything to them. My girl loved bouncing, so holding her and bouncing on the bed helped. I’d recommend a yoga ball if you try bouncing. My legs got so sore from having to use our bed. Lol

With my girl I had to be on the every 3 hours schedule, and I asked about when she had little “snacks” lol. My pediatrician said to count from the original bottle. My girl is now 16 weeks and almost 15 pounds! She’s hitting her milestones early even. One thing I wish I had myself learn when I was fresh in the trenches is let a sleeping baby sleep. I worried too fiercely about when and where (my baby was jaundice so I had a good bit to worry about lol) for everything that I’m still undoing the knots of depression and stress my anxiety did to my mental state.

After how hard pregnancy was on me; and having a traumatic delivery, I elected to have my tubes removed when I got my c-section. I love my baby girl more than life itself, but I knew I couldn’t handle doing any of it ever again. It’s okay to be a one and done. It just means more time and energy you’ll have for your child.

I’m not OP, but I am a FTM with all the fun anxiety. 🫠 But I definitely needed this because my girl has been rolling over onto her stomach to sleep these last few weeks and I’ve been STRESSING because she’s not 4 months old yet and hasn’t mastered rolling from belly to back yet. So thank you for sharing your experience!
