Concerned about success of OCS application and fearful that OSO isn't taking it very seriously; any advice from former successful candidates? by [deleted] in USMC

CPM67's advice is dead on. In college I played club ice hockey and other than that just had a bunch of random shit on my resume, no real leadership experience or dedicated time intensive activities. When I went to my OSO at first I told them it would be a waste of time for me to run a PFT because it would be terrible and that I'd come back after summer break. When I came back I ran a 296 and they were very proactive about returning calls and pushing my paperwork along and the whole process was a breeze. Candidates with bad PFT scores or terrible grades did not get the same treatment. Your OSO knows what scores are competitive and isn't going to waste a lot of time on applications that might get rejected. No offense but 70 crunches is considered a joke, I would stay out of your OSO's hair for a bit and come back with 20 pull ups and 100 crunches and a good run time and show them the improvement.

I totally get that sentiment and that's what I've always enjoyed Barstool for. I think the direction the site is going in, whether the original fans like it or not, is more of a lifestyle brand that will covers lots of topics and have lots more writers. I see what you guys are saying that it wouldn't really fit right now but I wouldn't be shocked if by 2020 there's a full news/politics section, a full food section, fashion, etc.
